The honest truth is that most positions that are listed as open don't exist. They're only there to "keep the talent pool warm". This isn't a booming economy or robust job market. Any job that's been up for longer than two weeks isn't real. Every job that gets listed gets at least a thousand applications in the first three days. If that position hasn't been filled in two weeks, the company doesn't want to fill it, and it doesn't matter how qualified you are for a position when the position doesn't exist. Even more disgusting, hiring managers have metrics of how many interviews they have to do in a certain time frame, so that position you reached "the final round" for, that's been open for more than two weeks? Yeah, you didn't get beat out and they didn't hire anybody that was more qualified or a better fit. They met their interview requirements for their job and that's it.

The job market is tough- Last week, I had two candidates coming in back-to-back to meet with the hiring manager. 🌟 Candidate 1: - 10:00 appointment - Said he thought the time was 10:30 - Arrived at 10:45 🌟 Candidate 2: - 11:00 appointment - Arrived at 10:50 Who do you think got an offer??? And also be sure to prepare. Practice interviewing with a coach or friend. And..... 🔹 After you slay the interview, keep building your network. 🔹 Don't stop applying for jobs that are the right fit 🔹Kepp pushing!

There should be a system that releases the top 3 candidates for a role back to the market in a public way, giving them an opportunity at another company and speeding up their process to get hired. Today, you spend 2-3 months pending the job, interviewing, meeting with the team, and putting your emotions into everything related to the role. Then, you get an email saying they're not moving forward with you, and it all ends. You start over. Imagine if there was a way for you to use the fast lane to another job opening because you were already a top candidate for a similar job. You would get a referral, you would come highly recommended, and you can cut down on some of the interview time since you've already proven yourself elsewhere.
