There have always been side interests, and I’ve spent some of my current maternity leave exploring them and learning from them. One involves training to become a registered Child Play Therapist. Play plays an essential role in society, not just in addressing the extreme mental health crisis facing our youth, but also because it is potentially the most important human skill we need to learn to become better functioning adults. Once upon a time, the streets were our playground. Here, we learned unchoreographed, unscripted interaction. We negotiated, fought, made amends, and built friendships, honing our social muscles along the way. However, we no longer play this way, with childhood hijacked by screens and resume-building. Play makes us better problem solvers, more resilient, more creative, less lonely, and more open to diverse opinions and differences—all things critically required today. I am hoping to explore this topic and its impact on society more broadly at SXSW Sydney. I would love your vote. 1. Login to Session Select (link in comments) 2. According to a survey, most SEOs dislike Google much more than they did before There is no doubt that Google is going through a difficult period right now on several fronts. With all of the concerns about search quality and bugs, it's no surprise that SEOs appreciate Google significantly less than they did years ago. According to an X survey, around 68% of SEOs dislike Google more now than they did previously. Approximately 25.5% stated they liked Google the same way they did.
