I’m filled with pride and gratitude as I take a moment to celebrate one of my best friends, Ally Skoog-Hoffman, PhD, who is leading the charge in systemic social-emotional learning (#SEL) for K-12 students. Her and her team's work goes beyond curriculum changes — it’s about fostering community inclusion and creating optimal learning conditions for every child, regardless of background.
With a commitment to evidence-based implementation practices, they are helping to shape environments where students feel seen, valued, and supported. In a world that often overlooks the emotional well-being of young learners, this work is a beacon of hope and progress.
It’s inspiring to see someone so dedicated to equity, inclusion, and the holistic development of future generations. Our kids deserve safe spaces where they can grow not just academically but emotionally, and thanks to their work, that vision is becoming a reality.
To all educators, community leaders, and policymakers — this is the kind of work that moves the needle toward a better future.
If you’re interested in learning more about how systemic SEL can transform K-12 education, I’m happy to connect you so she can share insights from this incredible journey.
