But today is the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2024 and we at Paragon Skills want to promote the value of #apprenticeshipsforall. Gone are the days when Apprenticeships were only for school leavers who wanted to gain hands-on skills. Apprenticeships can support anyone to learn new behaviours, knowledge and skills, at any age, to help them develop in their jobs. This learning module, linked in the comments, from ApprenticeshipUSA’s RA Academy, discusses the additional Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements for Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs with five or more apprentices. Gain valuable insights, foster inclusivity, and ensure a level playing field for all apprentices. Just as the grandest cathedral is built from millions of individual bricks, so too are broad visions built from many small actions. Successful program transformation is about having a destination vision, and then making just one step forward. Then another. Then another: Building momentum so one step becomes two. Two become four, and so on. Expanding Youth Apprenticeships is the same - implementing a workable and reliable process with the right employers in each community, THEN working on sustainable expansion.

Apprenticeships continue to be a top priority for Workforce Boards nationwide for all the right reasons. Great progress has been made, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. According to a recent American Institutes for Research® (AIR) report https://lnkd.in/e_QKHUH3, nearly 16,000 new apprenticeship programs have been created since 2016. Moreover, 25% of all new apprenticeships are in the targeted priority industries. Today, forward-thinking states use data-driven, specific, targeted engagement strategies to enable the apprenticeship expansion program. What if it is possible to improve Apprenticeship Programs – even by just 1%? An impact of 1% improvement across the program is significant – for youth apprenticeships and the broad apprenticeship program.
