National Apprenticeship Week 2024 is coming soon! NAW is a nationwide celebration where employers, industry representatives, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, educational institutions, and Federal,  State, and Local government agencies host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for strengthening our economy by developing a highly skilled workforce to meet industry needs, creating pathways for career seekers to catapult into good jobs, and advancing racial and gender equity. This year NAW will take place November 17-23.   On Wednesday the 19th, the theme will be “Expanding Registered Apprenticeship to Underserved Populations”. Apprenticeship is a workforce solution that actively promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace - including race, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. Registered Apprenticeship programs provide opportunities for under-represented populations and marginalized communities for sustainable family wages.   Policies and strategies for prioritizing DEIA and EEO in RA programs and success stories of apprentices overcoming obstacles will be featured and celebrated during NAW 2024. RA stakeholders across the country are launching apprenticeship programs that serve youth, ages 16–24. These programs, often referred to as youth apprenticeships, combine technical classroom instruction with paid work experience.   These amazing programs and their success stories will be featured and celebrated during NAW 2024. Industry Intermediaries serve as a conduit between employers and the Office of Apprenticeship to accelerate the expansion of Apprenticeship opportunities. Intermediaries work in collaboration with the DOL Office of Apprenticeship and State Apprenticeship Agencies who have sole responsibility for the registration and regulatory oversight of registered apprenticeship programs.   Registered Apprenticeship Industry Intermediaries raise awareness and promote the benefits of Registered Apprenticeship.
