The ceramic and glass industries play a crucial role in our everyday life. But, while we enjoy our daily coffee from ceramic mugs, the production process behind them contributes to environmental challenges. These industries, among the most energy-intensive, often rely on fossil fuels, particularly natural gas, for their production processes. By replacing these with renewable #biogas, we can significantly reduce emissions and help these sectors meet their sustainability goals. This week, Meva Energy will present how biogas, produced through our biomass gasification technology, can help IKEA’s ceramic and glass suppliers reduce their carbon emissions. 👉 Learn more about why this matters: https://lnkd.in/dyffCr9J

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐒 💡 At FincoEnergies, we're dedicated to exploring new renewable energy solutions and are proud to participate, together with GoodFuels, in the EU-funded CAPTUS Project. 🔸 Why is this project important? To combat global climate change, it's essential to switch to low-carbon energy systems. The goal of the project is to demonstrate sustainable and scalable pathways to develop high value energy carriers by using industrial carbon emissions and by integrating renewable electricity surplus. The project reflects a promising strategy that will help energy-intensive industries meet their emission reduction goals. It will also contribute in meeting the demand for #sustainablefuels in the transport sector. 🔸 What is our role in this project? Our role in the project is to develop strategies for the exploitation of the results and facilitate the adoption of these solutions into the market. So far, four scientific publications by the partner Universidad de Cantabria have been released, highlighting the project's progress and the potential of its outcomes. 🔸 What's next? Three complete renewable energy carrier (REC) value chains will be demonstrated at three different sites: 🔬 A bioprocess to produce triglycerides (a primary component of vegetable oils and animal fats used in the production of biodiesel) starting from CO2 in a steel plant; 🌿 Cultivation of lipids-rich microalgae, followed by hydrothermal liquefaction (a process that converts wet biomass into stable oil using hot, pressurised water) to produce bio-oils in a chemical plant; ⚡️Electrochemical reduction of CO2 to produce formic acid (a promising organic liquid hydrogen carrier) in a cement plant. The Captus consortium will tailor carbon capture technologies for each plant, evaluate the quality of the generated energy products, optimise processes and develop business models for future adoption. → Learn more about the project and access the publications › https://lnkd.in/dcKfcyPz #RenewableEnergy #RenewableFuels #Partnerships #GoodFuels #FincoEnergies

This form of green hydrogen is produced from biological feedstocks. The unique advantage of using biohydrogen technologies as renewable energy carriers is the achievement of negative emissions. This happens when more CO2 is being taken out of the atmosphere than added into it. As biohydrogen technologies continue to evolve, their transformative potential becomes more and more apparent, paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient energy future. https://lnkd.in/eM6swhTc
