Broadcasting to an Amazon IVS real-time stage from OBS allows you to take advantage of all of the powerful features in OBS - things like scene transitions, filters, advanced layouts and transitions. But what about when there are other participants in the real-time stream? In this blog post, we'll see how to use custom docks in OBS to see and hear all of the participants in a real-time stream - directly within OBS! https://lnkd.in/e6CymiBw

Parking lot rules were the iron-clad rule that controlled walking to the store with my daughters during our weekly shopping trips. When we exited the car, these rules dictated that each daughter held one of Daddy’s hands for the walk to the store. Two girls, two hands, no running around the busy parking lot. The parking-lot-rules corollary for live streamers is “for ultra-low latency, eliminate B-frames from your live streaming workflow.” You can do this for H.264 or HEVC with most transcoders in the GUI or by changing your command string. B-frames in either the origination or transcoded stream can easily add 250 milliseconds to latency. This, on top of all other contributors, can push overall latency to over a second, which is too long for interactive communications, and uncomfortable for gambling or even auctions. Connecting People with Media & IoT | Bridging the Gap between Users and Technology | Solving Complex Media & IoT Challenges
A recuring challenge and IMO one of the most important themes at #NAB2024, especially in times where all need to do more with less. The power of streaming technology lies in its vast versatility. However, the democratization of streaming capabilities creates significant challenges in managing the derived complexity. We always recommend starting the streamlining process with a consumer/ user / device-centric approach. This means prioritizing the needs and experience of the user and their devices when optimizing the streaming workflow. By focusing on a smooth user experience from the beginning, you can identify potential bottlenecks and streamline the entire streaming chain more effectively. It's crucial to address potential streaming bottlenecks throughout the system. Minor technical issues can snowball into major disruptions very quickly if left unaddressed, damaging the monetization of your valuable content and viewer engagement. This is a venture in deep media technology, it’s highly multidisciplinary, requires a diligent and thorough touch, and it’s an end-to-end game. We don’t know of any viable quick fixes. While this post from Dan Rayburn may be older, it still holds significant value on this important issue: https://lnkd.in/dYN9v-a9 Let's talk if you want to know more, I'm happy to answer any questions – end-to-end. 🔗 #Ad #Advertising #ATSC #ATSC3 #AVOD #Advertising #Broadcast #Broadcasting #cabletv #CTV #CTVAdvertising #CTVWars #ConnectedHome #Disruption #DVB #Innovation #ISP #IPTV #FAST #media #mediadistribution #mediatech #MVPD #vMVPD #NAB #NabAmplify #NextGenBroadcast #NextGenTV #OTT #PayTV #SMPTE #Streaming #StreamingBottlenecks #StreamingCapabilities #StreamingDemocratization #StreamingMedia #StreamingTechnology #StreamingWars #Telco #Telecom #Television #TV #TVChannel #TVAdvertising #video

The US Patent Trial and Appeal Board has declared two patents by WAG Acquisition invalid in their suit against Amazon, Google, YouTube, Disney, and Hulu. The two final written decisions, dated January 31, state that the claims of both patents are unpatentable and obvious over prior art. The two patents, 9,742,824 and 9,762,636, were issued in 2017 and are titled “Streaming Media Delivery System”. The WAG suit is over three patents—case number 2:21-cv-08230. #streamingmedia #patentlaw #SVOD #AVOD
