As we venture forward in 2024, you'll see that we at Rubicon Carbon will spend a lot of time talking about carbon removals. According to the Department of Energy, in addition to achieving net zero emissions, the US also must scale carbon capture and storage from 20m tonnes of Co2 equivalent to over a billion tonnes by 2050. The good news is that we have many promising nature-based as well as technological solutions that can compete to make this process cheap and efficient. Over the next few weeks, you'll see a new white paper from us on how Rubicon Carbon's unique portfolio approach can help scale carbon removal projects. We'll also be attending GreenBiz in Phoenix, and at the end of February, we'll host a webinar to discuss the state of the Carbon Removals market. I'll be sharing information about each of these activities in due course. In the meantime, be sure to stay up to date with news and announcements from Rubicon Carbon by signing up for our newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/eeknXhaQ

“A climate safe future is a necessary condition for peace, but we won’t achieve a climate safe future without peace” I came across this thought provoking TED talk by Olivia Lazard covering the often forgotten about close coupling between decarbonisation and geopolitics. It reminded me that as we push for and progress to a clean energy future, it is important to pay attention to the unintended consequences. There are a lot of lessons we can learn from the unintended consequences of fossil fuel adoption both environmentally and geopolitically. 🌳⛏️🕊️🏦💡 https://lnkd.in/efGVTKeh

The largest companies in the world by revenue are improving their corporate climate goals year after year. 🔎 Despite the unfavourable political climate, they are setting more significant and robust targets—such as the anti-ESG shift in North America. 📌 Additionally, they are increasingly inclined to use carbon credits to achieve these goals. 📣 This is revealed in the 2024 edition of the annual analysis by Climate Impact Partners, an organization operating in the field of carbon financing. 👉 The sixth edition of the study focuses, as in previous years, on the climate performance of companies listed in the Fortune Global 500, which includes the highest revenue-generating firms in the world. ➡️ Full Article: https://lnkd.in/dW9M6HG3 #RinnovabiliNET #environmnent #greeneconomy #solar #eolic #energy #greenenergy #solarenergy #windenergy #sustainable #sustainablity #sustainabledevelopment

We are beyond excited to announce that registration for the Scope 3 Discovery Program with Partners in Project Green are now open! 🎉🤩 Scope 3 emissions are all of the indirect emissions that occur because of your organization's value chain but are not directly owned or controlled by you. This includes the goods you buy from your suppliers and vendors, the shipping of those ingredients and your products 🚛, and the emissions cause by your products when 🛍️ customers use them. The Scope 3 Discovery Program is so important because Scope 3 emissions almost always make up the majority of your business' climate impact, and we can't wait to help Partners in Project Green members measure - and ultimately reduce - these emissions. Learn more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e3Fr3bW6
Did you know the majority of emissions (92%) disclosed by European companies in 2022 were Scope 3? To start tackling this portion of your company's emissions, sign up today for our Scope 3 Discovery Program: https://lnkd.in/e3Fr3bW6 Through a partnership between Carbonhound and Partners in Project Green (PPG), this program is designed to provide education and support for measuring your organization’s carbon footprint including its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions! Receive on-going support and discounted access to Carbonhound’s platform to map your emission sources, identify key emission hotspots, and automate climate data collection to drive action. First cohort starting in May 2024. Contact PPG’s Matt Brunette, M.Env.Sc, CEM, EP at matt.brunette@trca.ca to learn more! #Scope3 #ClimateAction #SustainableCommunities #ReduceGHGEmissions

How Would You Spend $100 Billion to Fight Climate Change? NosTerra founder Dave Welch answers the question with ideas for how to 10X grid capacity. His why? "We're at a transition point right now where clean energy has dropped dramatically in its cost structure," Dave Welch explains. "We want to continue to drive the cost of that energy down, and then, naturally, the market will rapidly convert from carbon-based energies to energies that don't consume carbon." How would you answer the question? Join NosTerra Ventures GreenBiz Group at CANOPY Menlo Park tomorrow (ONLY A FEW TICKETS LEFT): https://lnkd.in/gDsfWpmy
