Tonal's massively popular workout series that puts our members on the fast track to achieve their goals. ⚡ Accelerate is our January Challenge program that will quick-start your journey to all-around improved fitness featuring two tracks: Level 1 and Level 2. "The programming for FWFT: Accelerate was strategically designed to give members a solid fitness foundation for the year ahead, no matter where they are in their fitness journey," said Tonal Fitness Programming Specialist Jenna Moore, MS, CSCS. 🎯 Whether you're new to lifting or an experienced weight lifter, the program created by our fitness experts emphasizes movement quality and goal-focused training. Which fitnesss partameter declines on average the quickest with middle and older age? 1) Strength, 2) Aerobic Fitness, 3) Power. Answer: 3) Power. Research shows that, on average strength and aerobic fitness decline by ~10% per decade of life after the age of 40years old. Power however can decrease by 15-20% per decade. The available evidence also increasingly suggests that power (force x velocity) and power training is perhaps even more important for healthy active aging. If you think about many of the key activities navigating daily life independently, like getting out of a chair, climbing the stairs, picking up kids/grandkids, running or even walking quickly for a short period of time, these are most dependent on the power you can produce (and that’s not even thinking about the role of power in maintaining your golf driving distance!) An internal analysis of thousands of Tonal uses who trained deadlift at least 1 x per week over the course of a year, showed that they make over 120% increases in deadlift peak power, and 55+year olds actually made even large relatively increases. First off, if you're used to working out alone in your basement, stepping into a crowded gym can be intimidating. Here are a few things to keep in mind: - **Start slow:** Don't try to do everything at once. Begin by familiarizing yourself with the layout and the equipment. - **Plan your workouts:** Having a plan can help reduce anxiety and make the most of your time at the gym. - **Don't be afraid to ask for help:** Most gyms have staff members who are more than happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.
