🚀 CO OP Journey at The Shepherd Color Company👨🔬 I’m thrilled to share some highlights from my recent CO OP at The Shepherd Color Company, where I had the incredible opportunity to work on updating critical data and identifying discrepancies, addressing quality issues by recommending technical adjustments that enhanced performance, as well as take initiative that optimized operational efficiency. These projects not only improved operations but also provided me with invaluable lessons in problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective project management. My journey not only helped my technical skills, but also helped me grow professionally and personally in ways I hadn't anticipated. One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship was when the work I did actively helped on the plant floor, which gave me a real sense of accomplishment and reinforced my passion for Engineering. I am incredibly grateful to Michael Coleman, Drew Mesker and James Francis for their guidance and support throughout this journey. Here are some key takeaways from my internship: - Hands-On Experience: I had the chance to dive deep into DYNAMIX productions, which enhanced my practical skills in data management, long term observation of equipment, etc., - Professional Development: Engaging in team meetings and vendor interactions helped me develop my soft skills. - Networking: Building relationships with professionals in the industry, including vendors, different teams, contractors, etc., provided me with valuable insights and mentorship that I will carry forward in my career. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Shepherd Color Company who made this internship an unforgettable and enriching experience. Meet Justin Xia from Rice University! Justin is working as a Mechanical Design Intern at Capwell Services.🛠️🏢 🦅 Fun fact: Justin is an Eagle Scout! Here are some lessons he has learned in his first month of the internship: "The most significant lesson I've learned during my internship is the importance of communicating progress and challenges to my supervisors. This has shown me that the climate tech industry is filled with people who are not only highly knowledgeable but also deeply committed to supporting each other and advancing environmental solutions." "Working at Capwell Services has made me realize that companies can thrive with very small teams, and that progress is achieved incrementally, day by day. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, especially since the climate tech sector challenges many established industry practices that are difficult to change. It has shaped my understanding of entrepreneurship by highlighting the resilience and persistence needed to drive innovation and sustainability in a rapidly evolving and demanding field."

Here’s what she shared: 🔹 About Phoebe: "I'm interning with the R&D department at the corporate office. I recently completed my second year at Georgia Tech, majoring in Civil Engineering. I’m also from Atlanta, Georgia." 🔹 Internship Experience at Schnabel: "My internship at Schnabel has been great! Everyone is kind and willing to share their knowledge. I’ve enjoyed visiting job sites, applying classroom knowledge, and working with fellow interns. I’ve been involved in micropile load tests at M&T Bank Stadium, job support for SOMOS and Eccles, and R&D projects like analyzing waterfront tiebacks, concrete maturity, and deflection of a hanging mast. This experience has been eye-opening and shaped my future career goals." 🔹 Most Important Lesson Learned: "The most important lesson I’ve learned so far is that it’s okay to ask questions or ask for help. I’m halfway through college, so I still have a lot to learn. Everyone at Schnabel is a great resource, and I need to take advantage of all the knowledge they have." 🔹 Free Time Fun: "I really enjoy being outside in the sun, whether hiking, running, or sitting in a park reading a book.
