This week is EXTRA special as we take you to #California for #VideogenicFriday 📹 This year marks the 20th anniversary of the full energization of WAPA’s “Path 15” transmission line. Born from the Golden State’s energy crisis in the 90s, Path 15 was the evolution of a nearly 100-mile power transmission expansion, to include upgrade contracts and other projects in conjunction with Pacific Gas & Electric. Through partnerships with private entities, WAPA facilitated the construction of Path 15, a project that would go on to be completed both ahead of schedule, and under budget. The first shovels entered the ground in the Fall of 2003and nearly a year later, grid operators energized the Path 15 expansion line for the first time.
