Second Post in a Series: 🥩 Carnivores can love plant-based burgers! 🍔 🌿 🤟 She was leery but loved it! Every other week we would drive the Jackie Mays Burger food truck to the Safran corporate offices and serve lunch. In the early days, no one had heard of Jackie Mays, and many if not most of Safran’s ~500 employees at that site were hearty meat-eaters. But after a few visits, the word spread throughout the building that “you just had to try” these plant-based burgers, and more and more meat-eaters became regulars. And so it was when Keisha visited us, enjoyed our food, and volunteered to be recorded (below). We would see a lot more of her after that. Thank you Keisha! --- Since 2022, we at Jackie Mays Burger have recorded instances of meat-lovers – yes, loving our burgers. And we've been truly humbled. Now for the first time on LinkedIn, you get to witness several of these customers and hear what they have to say. Jollibee Group is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world, with more than 1,600 total locations, about 70 of which are in the U.S. It is investing big (total not disclosed) in Botrista, Inc. whose #DrinkBot machine is designed to serve a variety of premium, check-boosting cold drinks such as boba, cold brew coffee and smoothies - in big demand with (you guessed it!) younger consumers - without the need to hire or train specialized staff. The robot, which is about the size of a regular soda fountain, mixes beverages to order in about 20 seconds at the push of a button. Botrista said it would use the funding to meet strong demand for its technology as well as invest in #AI to help its customers create #data-driven beverage menus. And because I love the Jollibee mascot, here's a little extra happy news about it: It was designed to epitomize Filipino optimism. Tony Tan, Jollibee's founder, compared the mascot's character to the Filipino working class, stating that the bee "hops around and produces sweet things for life, and is happy even though it is busy". Stopping by late after work one night, Frankie noticed our Jackie Mays Burger food truck parked next to a local hotspot called Lucky Lou’s and had to have a burger. He was in a hurry and missed the menu and our mention of “plant-based.” He loved the Jackie Mays Cheeseburger so he came back the next night with his friend Alejandra and this time ordered a Double Cheeseburger and fries, but his friend said, “wait, I can eat it [too] because it’s vegan, surprise!” So they ate and laughed, and chatted, and enjoyed their orders and then told us their story.
