Personally, if I was given free rein I’d rather make something controversial or utterly unique than something pretty or market proven, but I understand why a lot of brand owners don’t want to do this. Spotify Wrapped has dropped, and so has our Campaign Del Mar Wrapped for 2024. This year has been full of growth, challenges, and a lot of learning: 🎁 Spent 9 months overseas (it already feels like forever ago) 🎁 Lived and worked in 5 countries 🇨🇦 🇲🇽 🇨🇷 🇺🇸 🇦🇺 🎁 Transitioned Marketing Circle to a membership model with 36 members 🎁 Doubled downloads on Got Marketing? 🎁 Sent 48 Weekly Roundups 🎁 Co-hosted our first business retreat (sold out in 48 hours) 🎁 Moved away from YouTube and TikTok to focus on what works 🎁 Became the unofficial Wicked marketing campaign commentator 🎁 Expanded the CDM team to four #dreamteam 🎁 Started a new business venture (more on that soon) It wasn’t all wins— herniated disc, anyone?—but it’s been a year to reflect on, and I’m excited for what’s to come. While I'm not usually one for jumping on trend bandwagons, I fully approve of this one because it forces us to pause and reflect on how far we've come, even if we fell short of our goals.
