What was the most important thing excitable golf fans needed to be (at) during the #BMWPGA over the weekend? CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) of course. Colleagues had the opportunity to volunteer with the charity at the championship, raising money through their chipping and mega-putt competitions. We're proud to say they're one of our ICAP Charity Day Partners and this month they've been raising awareness about ending youth suicide, through their extraordinary Missed Birthdays art installation: https://lnkd.in/eCa6FYGd. We all have a role to play in keeping young people safe, check out the CALM C.A.R.E. kit for practical tips and support: https://lnkd.in/eZK6cHhN

You know how to make a difference Briggs Equipment UK Ltd! That’s why the NSPCC wants to become your next charity partner. By working together, we can make a real difference by raising the vital funds needed to stop child abuse, which half a million children in the UK suffer each year. Just imagine, your support could help enable the NSPCC to answer the calls made to Childline - one child calls us every 45 seconds! These calls really do make a difference to the children who call us. What we ask of the team at Briggs Equipment UK, is that you vote for the NSPCC to be your charity of the year, resulting in you leaving a legacy for children in the UK. You can support the NSPCC too by sharing this post with your Briggs Equipment UK colleagues and contacts. Thanks. #MakeADifference #CharityOfTheYear #NSPCC

Really important and continuing conversation regarding the impact of unrestricted funding being carried out in this series of reports. Unrestricted funding is not just crucial for the survival of organisations in the social sector but also for our ability - as funders - to live up to our own missions and deliver change as quickly as we can. Our job - if we take it seriously - is to help reimagine and create a world so beautiful that our very jobs become unnecessary. Unrestricted funding to organisations with the vision, passion, and focus to lead the way, a crucial tool to get us there.
🆕 Under the bonnet of unrestricted funding with The Bromley Trust. Director of the Trust, Laura Roling, shares why they decided to embrace flexible funding in this way, seeing it as a 'vital way to help charities to navigate challenging times and develop new ways of meeting people's needs.' We also hear from grantees and charity leaders, Naomi Delap and Penny Parker. They explain what unrestricted funding allows their organisations to do and give words of advice to other funders, including thinking of longer-term change and ‘the bigger picture.’ Do any of their experiences and perspectives ring true to you? 🤔 🔗 Read the case study: buff.ly/3Pmu2O4

As we wrap up National Volunteer Week (April 21 – 27), it's important to recognize all the individuals who help charities through their generous donations of time. It's estimated that 60+ million people volunteer more than 4 billion hours annually. While many are motivated to volunteer, we sometimes hit roadblocks or challenges to achieve this objective. Among them is finding the “extra” time to donate. Overcome this and other barriers by considering the following tips when making a volunteer choice: https://bit.ly/3Wo1asO #community #BBB

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. As a registered charity dedicated to supporting people in Bucks, Citizens Advice Bucks believes no one should have to face these problems without free, good quality, confidential and independent advice. That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. But don’t just take our word for it, watch clients Sharon and Kelvin talk about the support they received and the difference it made. #citizensadvicebucks

Have you heard of the “Three Jar Method” when it comes to raising financially responsible kids? This exercise not only incorporates a bit of arts & crafts; but most importantly instils lifelong skills into our children about how to build savings habits early, give back to our community, and have a little fun along the way. 1. Purchase 3 jars from your local craft store and have fun decorating them with your children. 2. Label the jars: Savings, Charity, and Fun. When your children receive their pocket money, give them the option of how much money they will contribute to each jar. When the Savings jar is full you can take your children to your local BOQ Branch to open their first savings account. When the Charity Jar is full, you can assist your child in researching an organisation they may identify with or feel passionate about helping where they would like to donate their money towards. And when the Fun jar is full, it’s time to do just that – have some fun with that money making some great memories. Happy crafting! #BOQNoosa #ThreeJarMethod #Savings
