We must look after Anglesey and its future much better than the way it is now. We acknowledge the long-established connections North Wales has with North West England, through family, trade, leisure, and sports. Brexit poses significant challenges, and while we respect diverse opinions from independence to immigration, our focus must be on creating opportunities for our young people first. Major planning failures have let local businesses and people down. We need to prioritise retaining our youth over focusing on language impact over ivestment and employment. If we can't create opportunities for local businesses and people, there won't be the communities, culture and Welsh language that we value. The challenges are real, but so is our resolve. As part of National Reconciliation Week, the Winslow Group has launched its online Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Appreciation training. Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. As Australians, we can all be proud to be the home of one of the oldest continuous civilisations on Earth, extending back more than 65,000 years. Our Cultural Appreciation training course aims to increase employees’ awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture. Cultural awareness is a first step towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural competency, which refers to an ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. The focus of our training is to provide background and context, and then to move into appropriate behaviour from Winslow employees. Each person at Winslow is empowered to make good decisions to look after each other as family, be accountable to each other and be committed to operating safely. 🚀 Launched in 2002, the CIVITAS Initiative aims to make #urbanmobility more sustainable and connected, ensuring accessibility for everyone, in Europe and beyond. The CIVITAS initiative is one of the main programmes established by the European Commission to achieve its ambitious urban mobility and transport goals, as well as those of the Green Deal. 🌐 By creating a network of cities dedicated to #sustainablemobility, CIVITAS aims to provide the necessary knowledge and perspective to inspire every community, even the most remote ones. CIVITAS helps municipalities place mobility at the forefront of #decarbonisation by creating opportunities for information exchange, training sessions, and networking events. The network assists cities in promoting political engagement and sharing experiences within the Union on sustainable urban transport. 🤝 The CIVITAS community consists of six key pillars: projects, national networks (#CIVINET), CIVITAS cities, political exchange forums (PEF), the learning network, and affiliated communities. 🚃 The activities carried out by the CIVITAS initiative include: #activemobility, behaviour change and #communitmanagement, promotion of low-consumption or clean energy-powered vehicles, collective transport and #sharedmobility, urban space management, integrated and inclusive planning, public participation, safe streets and road safety, connected and accessible mobility, and urban logistics. 🏅 As ISINNOVA, we have been appointed as the secretariat of CIVINET Italia, the new network of cities that focuses on sustainable urban mobility.
