As we start looking at the future of our country and with the elections in the near horizon, I feel now is the time to get the attention of the incoming President of the United States. If at any time at all, to get the AI in Education and Education Reform movement on the agenda and in the hands of the person who can make this happen, I have worked with my personal AI assistant to craft this letter to the President. Dear President, As highlighted during the campaign, our education system is not only broken, but in dire need of replacement. This should be a top priority for your administration, as now is the time to create a modern, effective system that prepares our future generations for the challenges and opportunities ahead. We call for a ground-up approach that puts students at the center and utilizes AI-driven solutions, with ethics, privacy, and unbiased practices as fundamental principles. This transformation is critical for our nation's success, and we look forward to collaborating with you in this vital effort. Today, #TeachAI, an initiative led by Code.org, ETS, ISTE, Khan Academy, and the World Economic Forum, launched Foundational Policy Ideas for AI in Education. These resources help education leaders and policymakers create the enabling policy conditions for effective and responsible AI in education. Over the last few months I've had the privilege of representing Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET) on the TeachAI Advisory Committee to develop these policy resources.
