India observes April 24 as National Panchayati Raj Day to mark enactment of 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act of 1992, which gave constitutional status to our Panchayati Raj System. 'Political Decentralization' accompanied by 'Economic Decentralization' is the best way for a diverse country like India to become a developed nation.
On National Panchayati Raj Day, let's celebrate the spirit of empowering local self-governance. Strong Panchayats lead to stronger communities. May these institutions continue to flourish and contribute to our nation's progress! #CanaraBank #NationalPanchayatiRajDay

My Article on Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programmes On 30th September 2023, while addressing 3,000+ field functionaries gathered at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed that, ‘The Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) will find its place in golden letters in the top 10 list of all schemes the Government of India has implemented since independence.’ In our article in the latest issue of the #Kurukshetra journal, published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, my co-author Saurabh Rishi and I have elaborated on ADP's unique #model for #socioeconomic transformation through grassroots #empowerment. The article focuses on: 1. Origin and Outcomes 2. Innovative and Collaborative Approach 3. Seven Critical Success Factors 4. Sub-national Transformation 5. Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) The #transformation enabled by ADP and early gains under ABP underscore that empowered and inspired #leadership, hyper-local #planning, outcome-focused real-time #monitoring, and optimal #resource utilisation through #convergence can drive #decentralised development. #MahatmaGandhi believed that the soul of #Bharat lives in its #villages. The journey of the Aspirational #Districts and #Blocks will culminate in Aspirational and #Aatmanirbhar Villages. A socioeconomically selfreliant village (Aatmanirbhar Gaon) is the foundation for achieving the vision of #AmritKaal and a #ViksitBharat by 2047. 🌟✨ Empowering Minds in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR): A Step Towards Inclusivity and Awareness ✨🌟 In a significant stride towards fostering a more inclusive society, the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam has recently inaugurated a school dedicated to imparting lessons on humanity and societal happiness. 🏫💖 Here's a glimpse into this commendable initiative: 🔍 Program Highlights: Bias Elimination: Trainees underwent training to recognize and eliminate both conscious and unconscious biases, fostering a culture of inclusivity. Legal Awareness: Participants were enlightened about various laws related to social issues, enhancing self-awareness and understanding of societal complexities. 🌐 Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR): Established under the Sixth Schedule to the Indian Constitution in 2003, the BTR is an autonomous region in Assam. Formed after the signing of the Memorandum of Settlement, it represents a collaborative effort between the Government of India, the Government of Assam, and the Bodo Liberation Tigers. 📜 The Sixth Schedule: Contains provisions for the administration of tribal areas in the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram. Outlined in Articles 244(2) and 275(1) of the Indian Constitution, it allows for the creation of Autonomous District Councils and Regional Councils with legislative, executive, judicial, and financial powers. 🗺️ Tribal Areas under Sixth Schedule: Part I (Assam): North-Cachar Hills District, Karbi-Anglong District, Bodoland Territorial Area District. Part II (Meghalaya): Khasi Hills District, Jaintia Hills District, Garo Hills District. Part II-A (Tripura): Tripura Tribal Areas District. Part III (Mizoram): Chakma District, Mara District, Lai District. 🌈 Impact and Vision: This initiative reflects the commitment of the BTR towards creating a society that values understanding, inclusivity, and awareness. As we celebrate these efforts, let's continue supporting initiatives that contribute to positive societal transformation. 🌍🤝 #BTR #Inclusivity #CommunityEmpowerment #SocialAwareness 🏫💬
