Celebrating One Year of TRATON Charging Solutions! 🎉🔋🔌 In just 12 months, TRATON Charging Solutions (TCS) has made significant strides in providing seamless charging for #CommercialVehicles across Europe. Under the leadership of Dr. Petra Sundström♦️, the network now spans 15 countries, empowering #fleet operators with easier access to charging points A standout development is the launch of MAN Truck & Bus SE's Charge & Go, designed to simplify charging for all #TRATONGROUP brands. As Sundström puts it, “Our aim as a shared service entity is to give all our brands the supporting framework to succeed.” TCS swiftly developed a backend platform to support all TRATON brands in offering similar services: Scania Group has already started with the rollout of Scania Charging Access and MAN Truck & Bus SE recently followed with the launch of its own public charging service MAN Charge&Go. Petra Sundström highlighted that while TCS provides the technological backbone, each brand tailors the commercial packaging of its services for success. Still, challenges remain – particularly in expanding infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles. Meet Monisha Anthony, MBA, Product Manager at the #TRATONGROUP, who is taking on this challenge through her work in the Commercial Solutions Planning team. On October 10th, the #TRATONGROUP celebrated its first group-wide #Diversity & #Inclusion Day! 🏅At this special hybrid event colleagues from all over the world discussed diversity. Our offices in Munich and Södertälje transformed into vibrant hubs for mingling and exchange. 🌎️ Best-selling author Erin Meyer held the keynote. The #TRATONGROUP has released its unit sales figures for the first nine months of 2024. In Q3 2024, our brands Scania Group, MAN Truck & Bus SE, International, and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus delivered 85,300 vehicles, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Total unit sales for the first nine months of 2024 were 245,400 vehicles, down 2%. Scania and Volkswagen Truck & Bus sold more vehicles in Q3 2024 than in the prior-year quarter, driven by a strong market in South America, which more than offset the declines in Scania's European business. MAN Truck & Bus experienced reduced truck sales due to a weak market in Europe, especially Germany, with bus and van sales also below last year's figures. International's unit sales increased year-on-year, recovering from a delivery backlog due to a supplier plant fire in Q2 2024. Bus sales also rose as deliveries of the new school bus model continued to ramp up. We will publish our full 9M Interim Statement on October 28, 2024. Stay tuned. Exciting news from our #TRATON charging joint venture Milence, which has officially opened its first charging hub in the Nordics today! 🌍 Located in Varberg, Sweden, this marks the first of 10 hubs currently under development across the country. Strategically placed along the Scandinavia-Mediterranean TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network) corridor, the Varberg hub will provide essential charging infrastructure, enabling smooth electric road transport between Gothenburg and Malmö. 🚛🔌 Anja van Niersen , CEO of Milence, emphasizes the importance of this development: “Sweden is one of the leading countries in Europe when it comes to sustainability and energy transition, where electric road transport is a reality today. Closing the circle: Could remanufacturing be the future of sustainable heavy vehicle production? Scania Group has become the world’s first truck #OEM to integrate remanufactured components directly into its main assembly line: The #TRATON brand included a gearbox made from reused components. Through the #iReGear research project, Scania, in partnership with Kungliga Tekniska högskolan and Scandinavian Transmission Service AB, showed: 📉 The project consumed about 50 % less material. 💨 Carbon emissions could be reduced by up to 45%. ✔️ Testing on over 100 quality and function parameters confirmed that the gearbox was "as good as new". Fredrik Nilzén, Head of #Sustainability at Scania, said, "This remanufactured gearbox is a compelling example of how the manufacturing of heavy vehicles can become more #sustainable, circular and efficient, while still retaining the highest quality standards." #FactFriday: Did you know that #TRATON and Hödlmayr International are paving the way for greener logistics? By shifting #truck transport from road to rail, we can reduce emissions by up to 80%! TRATON brand MAN Truck & Bus SE already has a train in operation for deliveries from the Niepolomice plant near Krakow. This shift reduces CO₂ emissions by 0.6 tons per vehicle.
