Flood Season Alert! 🏡 ☔ As hurricanes become more active, certain regions of the US face potential disasters. Surprisingly, about 40% of flood insurance claims under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) stem from areas not typically considered high-risk for flooding. Key points about flooding to consider: -Urban areas are at a higher risk of flash floods. -Urban streams flowing into storm drains can lead to flooding in low-lying areas and basements. -Risks associated with dam failures. -Ice jams and snowmelt can escalate runoff, causing damage to homes. -Remember, while hurricane season affects coastal areas, any state experiencing rainfall is susceptible to flooding. #floodingseason #floodpolicy #realestate #housingmarket #homebuyers #cbrealty #anywhereinsurance #insuranceprotection
