When your dream destination offers unique experiences that you don’t want to miss, like skydiving, mountain climbing or scuba diving, it’s crucial to prepare in order to help enjoy adventure sports more safely. Here are our tips for making the most of your adventure travel: 1. Research your location. Before embarking on your trip, research the activities available at your destination and find the right fit for you. You’ll want to take your budget, skill level and distance from your lodging into consideration before booking your adventure. Be sure to research both the safety of the adventure activity as well as the reputation of the company. 2. Work with the weather. There is only so much control you can have when it comes to the weather during your trip; however, you may increase your chance of sunny days by booking your vacation in your destination’s dry season. Frequently checking the weather for your trip before departure can help you reschedule activities the rain may ruin. 3. Get the right gear. Research the proper gear and attire that may be required for your adventure so you know if you need to purchase anything before your travels and be sure to help protect your baggage with a travel insurance plan. Alternatively, save room in your luggage by checking if you are able to rent equipment from the tour or adventure company you’re traveling with. 4. Get coverage. Many adventure and extreme activities aren’t covered by a basic travel insurance plan. Make sure you have the right coverage by purchasing a plan that doesn’t exclude adventure sports. Travel Guard’s Adventure Sports Bundle removes certain exclusions from applicable coverages to help protect your travel investment. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gsGUMPE5.

Yachtie Life: Thrills, Chills, and Medical Bills? The life of a yacht crew member is often romanticized – sunshine, crystal-clear waters, and exotic destinations. But beneath the glamorous surface lies a world of adventure that can sometimes be dangerous. Scuba diving, jet skiing, and snorkelling are all popular activities for yachties, but they also carry inherent risks. Hazardous Encounters: -Scuba Diving: Decompression sickness, nitrogen narcosis, and injuries from marine life are all potential hazards. Divers ascend slowly to avoid decompression sickness, also known as "the bends," which can cause serious neurological damage. Nitrogen narcosis, similar to drunkenness, can impair judgment underwater. Even a seemingly harmless brush with a coral reef can lead to infection. -Jet Skiing: High speeds and unpredictable manoeuvres can result in collisions, rollovers, and even drowning. Jet skis can also strike unsuspecting swimmers or divers. -Snorkelling: While seemingly less risky, sunburn, dehydration, and encounters with marine life are all possibilities. Coral cuts can easily become infected, especially in tropical waters. Why Yachtie Health Insurance is a Must: Medical treatment, especially abroad, can be exorbitantly expensive. Even a minor mishap during a dive or a jet ski accident can result in hefty medical bills. Here's why medical insurance is crucial for yachties: -Covers Unexpected Costs: Even basic medical care can be expensive overseas. Insurance helps offset these costs, ensuring you receive proper treatment without financial burden. -Search and Rescue: In case of a serious accident at sea, medical insurance can often cover the cost of search and rescue operations, which can be extremely expensive. -Peace of Mind: Knowing you're covered allows you to relax and enjoy the activities that come with the yachting lifestyle without the constant worry of financial repercussions in case of an accident. Your health is your most valuable asset. Don't let a lack of medical insurance turn a dream job into a financial nightmare. It is travel season!! As we embark on journeys back home, to exotic vacation destinations, scuba diving, hiking, mountaineering, skydiving, whatever your plans are, I have a humble request to make. Given the already substantial costs associated with our travels, it's crucial to mitigate any unforeseen expenses. From flight delays to unexpected illnesses, these incidents can easily disrupt our plans and add financial strain. Just recently, during a trip to Ottawa for some paperwork, I found myself needing to rebook my flight as the original one got cancelled. This unforeseen circumstance resulted in an additional $500 in flights rescheduling. To help you safeguard your trips, I'd like to introduce a valuable tool I personally rely on for exploring travel insurance options. Tugo stands out as a company that offers comprehensive coverage for all travelers and allows for customizable plans tailored to your specific needs. Go check it out for yourself. Online Business Manager | Operations Manager ✨ Helping purpose-driven entrepreneurs to work ON their business instead of IN their business ✨ Strategy | Project & Team Management | Systems & Operations
Last week, I went completely off the grid. I fulfilled a dream I have had since becoming a scuba diver in 2012: diving in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. Being in charge of my schedule, while also living in SE Asia at the moment, the time had finally come. And to make it worthwhile, I went all out and booked a multi-day dive trip. I spent six days on a traditional Indonesian sailboat, starting each day with the sunrise, followed by an early morning dive, and breakfast. The rest of the day was a mix of relaxing and diving in some of the most vibrant coral reefs I have ever seen. The sheer diversity of fish, sharks, turtles, and other marine creatures was mind-blowing. Typically, I prefer to be in control of my day, structuring what I do and when I do it. But on this trip, I handed over the reins and followed the dive crew's plan. This allowed me to fully immerse myself in the beauty above and below the surface without worrying about logistics. The ease of following someone else's plan on this trip offered some insights relevant to managing a business. Much like planning a dive trip, managing a business involves countless details that can distract from your core passion. By handing over these organizational aspects to an Online Business Manager (OBM), you can focus on what you truly love about your business and leave the backend considerations to a professional. On the dive boat, the crew shared their daily plan, allowing for modifications if needed. Similarly, an OBM will create and execute plans based on your ideas, so you won't have to handle every tiny detail. Even though in the beginning it might seem hard to hand over responsibilities, it then enables you to enjoy the journey a lot more, whether it's exploring a stunning underwater world or growing your business. How do you feel about handing over some control? Let me know in the comments. _________________________ Hi, I am Isabelle, Online Business Manager for purpose-driven small businesses. 🔸️So many goals and plans, but no idea where to start? 🔸️You are working long hours, but projects still don't move along? 🔸️Your business is lacking systems and documentation? 🔸️Having a team just means more work for you? Sometimes, outrageous boldness is safer than playing it safe. But would you? This week, we're in the ocean. So, imagine yourself at sea, far alone, in a steel-hulled yacht, smack in the toughest sailing conditions on the planet. Your boat is tiny - a speck, a flake. It's not that a storm may hit - you're sailing the Roaring Forties at the bottom of the world. Conditions are wild, almost 24/7. It's where the ocean cuts completely loose. So why would anyone venture that far south? Because if you have the guts, it's the quickest way to sail round the world. Accepted wisdom says put out a drag anchor to stop the 40’ waves - the “greybeards” of the Southern Ocean - from tossing you to bits. But accepted wisdom has never really been your thing. Much less after months alone on the water. Wild, inspired, past logical thought, you decide instead to let it go - you cut away the anchor, and throw your life to the wind. Free from the drag, your boat leaps forward. Far from getting thrashed, it surfs down the face of a huge wave, and climbs the back of the next. You cling to the prow, bare chested, roaring, hair and beard flying in the storm. It’s 1969. Your name is Bernard Moitessier, your boat is Joshua, and you’ve just unlocked the secret to winning the world’s first solo Round The World yacht race. Until you decide to pack it all in. Moitessier was way ahead, and on course for lifetime fame and fortune. But by then, he’d won a greater prize: he’d found out who he was, and what he really wanted. Back in the safe waters of the Atlantic, he fired a message by catapult onto the deck of a passing ship, for his Times correspondent, stating why he was resigning: "parce que je suis heureux en mer, et peut-être pour sauver mon âme." So instead of holding north to the finish line, he abandoned the race, veered south east and just kept going - surfing Joshua through the fearsome Roaring Forties all the way to Tahiti, where he stayed. I love this story of one of the legends of sailing. And it reminds me of a piece of business research, which Barry Gibbons, the ex-CEO of Burger King, used to quote. Retired Execs were asked about their biggest regrets. Their answer? Not having faced down fear, and taken more risks. Because in the risks and the big calls, they and their teams came most alive. And they created the most value for their companies too. Moitessier spent a life at sea, including the longest nonstop yacht passage in history. Joshua was finally beached and ruined, but was restored, and sails on today. If you could sail Joshua back in those stormy waters, what fear would your 80 year old self have you face down today? Like the story? Like the branding? I'm testing both - new weekly newsletter for leaders and teams coming soon.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁: 𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙩. Though the ocean could be calm or rough up there on the surface, it is always quiet down below. The same is true in life. No matter how chaotic things get, we should always remain calm on the inside. If you have ever gone snorkelling or scuba diving, you know there is silence beneath the waves regardless of the turbulence above. ⚡𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿: ✅𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: Watching gentle waves lap against a boat inspired me to stay true to my core values. Just as surrounding waters do not harm a boat, we also have to maintain inner peace and not allow ourselves to be influenced by external pressures. ⚓️ #𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲 #𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 ✅𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Despite the calm sea, I knew quiet times can be short-lived.
