One of the essential components of a towed survey array is the winch. Whether it is a magnetometer, streamer or sonar array – without an efficient and functional winch, the operation of towed equipment becomes a nightmare for the survey team. It is good when the winch offers simple intuitive controls and sufficient power for the equipment towed, and even better when it has a system to maintain constant tension.
