There’s a reason it’s called video village. There will be almost 2,000 people in the ballroom today and 1,985 of them will never see more than a few folks “running the show” if they notice any at all. But there is a village of people behind the scenes ensuring that the everything runs smoothly. From getting graphics on screen at the right time to making sure that the CEO gets to the stage at just the right moment. Lighting, Audio, Video, stage management, and stagehands all come together to form a small community that is dedicated to one goal, a flawless event. It’s a wonderful example of how, when a group of people come together and all have a drive to attain something together, all of the other things that often divide others just don’t come into play. We all stay distinct and often uncompromising in our views of the world but the goals and passions that unite us overtake those differences.
