The mystical town of Mompox was the home of Alma Air for the week as Chief Commercial Officer Rupert Stebbings attended the Cotelco Capitulo Cartagena y Bolívar symposium in the town. The idea of Colteco is to build close connections with its Bolivar cities and towns, accordingly both the Governor of the state and Mayor of Mompox were in attendance. The tourism ambitions for Cartagena, Mompox and the rest of Bolivar are extensive. There were workshops for the local hotels which Importantly included the support of Fundación Renacer who are helped fight the scourge of the sexual exploitation of minors by tourists, something that Mompox, unlike other cities, has avoided, and long may it remain that way. The ongoing challenge is connectivity and Alma Air is here to help in that regard. 🌟 Unleashing the Power of Outstanding Service 🌟 At KILSA Group, we're constantly exploring ways to enhance travellers' journeys and boost commercial revenues for airports. Several of our projects include optimising terminal layouts or tailoring concession mixes to passenger needs; but, due to their complexity, they take 3 to 5 years to see their full impact. Often, we are able to identify #quickwins, with the most significant impacts coming from improvements in service and incentivizing staff to exceed expectations. Acknowledging the challenges, I won't sugarcoat it – working together with retailers and their teams to align objectives and define collaborative strategies is no walk in the park. But the results? Rapid and remarkable transformations in airport experiences. Allow me to share two personal experiences as a passenger turned client, all thanks to incredible staff: 📍 Athens International Airport: Like many passengers, I enjoy exploring local brands but often find myself clueless about them. A brand ambassador transformed my experience in the duty-free store by sharing unique stories behind local beauty brands. She allowed me to emerge into the brand history and explore and test products without pressure, resulting in a bag full of local gems! 📍 Munich Airport: On a business trip, I needed a "guilty" present for my daughter. Time-crunched at the Vedes store, a staff member was a game-changer. In under a minute, she understood my daughter's age and preferences, presenting me with three perfect options. Another passenger turned into a delighted client, and now I always return to that store when travelling from or transferring in MUC. ⚡The #challenge? Elevating these examples to the regular level of service expected at airports is no easy feat. High staff turnover and limited client relationships due to infrequent visits add complexity. Yet, some airports achieve it.
