I was recently asked, "If I were with Ubisoft x BLAST x #RainbowSixSiege, what would I do to revive the collegiate space further than the MidwestR6 League?" The answer is quite simple... Focus on the big-name tournaments and leagues and support them. Great examples are #NECC, #CR6, and #MWR6. Collegial tournaments can lead players to higher-level competition, including finals that provide both exposure and incentives for the team and its program. Events (LANs), a high priority for thousands of collegiate fans nationwide, can accomplish this. Secondly, in-game support and recognition would also be a massive step. Such as the #R6SHARE and Ubisoft x BLAST, which recently announced an expansion for more Tier One teams. Items such as collegiate-themed content (such as skins or banners) that teams can earn or unlock create identity and pride in the community. This includes recognition for the space and the current, past, and future players. A third option, also the easiest, is community engagement. Actively engaging with collegiate communities and leagues through their content; this can be through likes, comments, and retweets to tailor fans towards the community. This showcases that the brand sees the collegiate scene, values the players, and knows they exist. They want their voices to be heard, and this is a great way to do it with minimal resources. From the initial build through to the show itself, and the takedown afterward, our team has been on the ground for five intense weeks working with and supporting our clients. Over the years many of our clients have asked us how we achieve what we do and make things look so easy. As with any event, things can change at the last minute. Flexibility is the key to making sure that these changes don’t disrupt the event. Our team is always ready to adapt. We overcome unexpected challenges with a solution-focused mindset—and of course, along with a good sense of humour. It is this attitude and our flexibility that helps us to ensure that everything stays on track, no matter what surprises might come our way. 🚀 Unpacking Squad Busters’ Unique Journey to Global Launch 🎮 Supercell will launch its sixth game, Squad Busters, on May 29th. Its global release date was confirmed a mere two days after the game’s soft launch in select markets, suggesting the decision to release worldwide may have been made in advance. Since Supercell’s last global launch, 2018’s Brawl Stars, 10 games have been unveiled to the public, and seven of them have already been discontinued. Clash Mini, an autochess game, was the last Supercell title to be discontinued, but it had spent the longest time in soft launch — over two years. All the other discontinued games spent less than 16 months in soft launch, with Rush Wars the briefest at three months. Brawl Stars underwent a soft launch of one and a half years. Squad Busters, on the other hand, got two short beta tests for a total of 17 days. Supercell - the legendary studio behind Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, and Clash Royale - is launching their first new game in five years on May 29th! Squad Busters continues the Tencent-owned studio's theme of approachable competitive games perfected for the mobile form factor. The core loop features 10 squads of Supercell characters battling it out to collect gems and be the last squad standing (The Verge compared it to a mini-MOBA) Supercell has possibly the highest quality control of any game studio - before settling on Squad Busters after multiple rounds of regional testing, the studio soft launched and killed three other titles. Who knows how many more concepts never even made it that far? Through its existing titles, Supercell consistently generates around $2B annually but growth has stagnated in recent years.
