We are proud to announce a collaboration with Windpark Oostzeedijk, allowing us to generate wind energy directly from three wind turbines located in Zeeland, the Netherlands, to our malthouse in Eemshaven. With this partnership, we set our final step towards opening the world's first emission-free malthouse. This energy transition is made possible by reusing our own residual heat and making use of an innovative heat pump system. The energy required for this will be obtained from sustainable energy sources. It is directly supplied by three wind power turbines on Dutch soil. By combining our efforts, we contribute to a more sustainable future for next generations. It is with immense gratitude that I share my experience as the organizer of the International Conference on Renewable Energy Technologies (#CITER) in Piauí. 🌍 The event, held from June 3 to 5 at the Teresina Convention Center, marked a crucial moment of interaction between academia, researchers, companies, and government around the vital theme of a Just and Sustainable Global Energy Transition. Piauí, a state that stands out as a hub of innovation and investment in renewable energy, has been a protagonist in this scenario, with Governor Rafael Fonteles leading strategic initiatives to promote sustainable development and drive the adoption of clean energy sources. The collaboration between various entities, including Investe Piauí, the Instituto ICIMA and UNDP , was essential for the success and relevance of the conference. During the event, I had the opportunity to participate as a speaker, moderator, and panel organizer, facilitating enriching discussions with renowned national and international experts. The diversity of perspectives and the exchange of knowledge promoted profound reflections that will certainly serve as a basis for future actions and policies in the field of renewable energy in Brazil. We are proud to announce our participation in the new French government-funded project, PRECIZE (PRocédé ÉCologique et Innovant de liants de spécialité Zéro Émission). This project was funded by the French State as part of France 2030 operated by ADEME. It aims to enhance the sustainability of the key downstream markets at Imerys, including Building & Infrastructure and Performance Minerals, through the use of renewable energy and carbon reutilization. The project will contribute to the Group's global commitment to align its activities with the 1.5 degrees trajectory, reducing its scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2021 baseline. Using new technologies will be an important lever to help achieve this ambition – especially for production site that produce the most emissions. 🎉🌟 Great news! Despite initial challenges post-Brexit, we're thrilled to announce another breakthrough for our HyEkoTank project! Previously, UK partners faced hurdles in accessing Horizon Europe funding due to Brexit. However, the organizations from the UK that are partners in Horizon Europe projects can be compensated by UK Research and Innovation, a national public body of the Government of the United Kingdom that directs research and innovation funding. Recently, the application of our partner - Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Ltd. that is registered in the United Kingdom - has been approved and additional funding for being a part of our HyEkoTank project is secured. This achievement marks another milestone in our project's journey towards sustainable innovation in the maritime industry. 🛳️⚡ 🌟 We're excited to continue our collaboration and build upon the invaluable contributions Shell has already brought to the HyEkoTank project.
