Today, TRITEC's Executive Administrative Assistant Kerri Fitzgerald Doherty brought her sons, Collin and Matthew, to the office for a special visit! The boys enjoyed an exclusive tour of Station Yards, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at the latest phase of construction. Future builders in the making? We think so! 🦺

Development across the Boston area is slowing as high interest rates and inflation make builders more hesitant to start new projects. But when the next wave of development comes, it will notably not take place downtown, in the Seaport or even Back Bay. It’ll be in underutilized stretches of Dorchester and Somerville, and historically industrial tracts of Allston, Charlestown and South Boston.

Helping construction companies build homes and regenerate North West communities through certainty of delivery |change-maker |driving local social value
Really enjoyed this session yesterady and a selected bunch with different experiences and standpoints made interesting discussion. A few stand out points for me were How the Building Safety Act is going to impact on Frameworks and collaboration moving forwards. I see it as a positive thing and a real opportuity to move forwards on what Lagan, Egan et al have reported on for 40 years. What do you think? Construction procurement is now about far more than just the activity itself. Someone talked about us becoming school teachers, parents, counsellors and much more as part of the social value agenda, which I believe in. However, this got me thinking. When the government procures IT systems (thinking the Post Office Horizon and the NHS, and more specifically, Fujitsu, then what Social value for those levels of contracts do they have to demonstrate and give? What did the suppliers in the PPE crisis have to do to win the contracts? I bet not as much as construction has to. This is not fair or right. Surely Social Value should be spread across the whole procurement piece fairly? What is your experience? What do you think?

Well chaired Dan Whelan. A healthy discussion with a common thread of frustration, coupled with optimism and a desire for action and change. The lack of respect of value, both in terms of what each party is able to bring to the table, as well as value diluted by “a race to the bottom” has to be one of the key issues across the industry. #value #values #respect #experince #expertise #yougetwhatyoupayfor
