Trade visitor numbers at #Drupa2024 were 170,000 according to figures released today by Messe Düsseldorf. That's nearly 35% - or more than 90,000 visitors - down on the Drupa 2016 figure of 260,165. And below pre-show hopes of hitting the 200k mark. However, many exhibitors have certainly been very positive about the quality of attendees and the amount of business done at the show. The visitor numbers reflect a changing and consolidating industry, and the fact that attending is much more expensive than it was. 2025 is only months away, and we have put many thoughts into what we can and shall cover. We have decided to focus on Labelexpo, Printpack India, and PRINTING United Expo - these shows cover geographically and segment-wise the most - and we can serve our audience the best by focusing on fewer shows but more dense. Evaluating the number of shows (mostly international shows), we believe there are too many, and there is a need to consolidate these—just like every other business in our industry. You may wonder why we don't have FESPA on the list, but though we have covered FESPA for many years, it's a one-way street with little interest in working together with us—fair, but a fact.
