The Trust for Civic Life is now accepting nominations for the first Civic Entrepreneur #grant cycle! Our priority deadline for nominations is Wednesday, September 25. These are 1-year programmatic grants, up to $25,000 each, with $2M in total funding available for this round. What's a Civic Entrepreneur? This is an individual or small group experimenting with new programs that draw people together and spark civic participation. We are looking for nominees in our priority regions (the Black Belt, Central Appalachia, Tribal Lands and U.S. Southwest Border), and we have a special interest in work that touches on the themes of faith, digital and public spaces. If you know of someone in your community that you think is a great fit, you can find our nomination form here: https://lnkd.in/gHdDYjVN. The form goes into more detail about the specific grant eligibility and includes a link to FAQs about this cycle's application process.

Maestro Entrepreneur Center doing some important work supporting entrepreneurs - just imagine when we equip those leaders with the tools to meet local community needs and do impact work!! There’s no need to reinvent the wheel when we have great partners. One way I learned this is through dispute resolution programs that stabilize affordable housing, which are unfortunately riddled with disputes. The idea is simple and effective: resolve disputes out-of-court with trained mediators before the issue escalates to the legal level, saving both parties tremendous resources in the process, and enhancing the relationships with more agile working agreements.
🔥 Exciting news! 🚀 Our Executive Director is on a power-packed mission in Atlanta, Georgia, alongside a squad of nonprofit champs, elected leaders, and community rockstars! 🌟 They're diving deep into the world of impactful housing, entrepreneurship, and community investment on the Westside of Atlanta. 🏡💡 The ESTAR West coalition is turning heads, asking the tough questions, and soaking in wisdom from Atlanta's trailblazers. 🤔 Now, the big question is: How do we bring this game-changing knowledge back to supercharge San Antonio? 🚀💪 #MissionPossible #CommunityLeaders #KnowledgeExchange #SanAntonioStrong

"Baltimore-area residents—especially Black Baltimore-area residents—exhibit a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Overall, 23.3 percent of Baltimore-area residents considered being an entrepreneur a better path to financial success than working for an established business. Black Baltimore-area residents, however, were twice as likely to endorse this opinion... race [also] shapes the entrepreneurial outlook among Baltimore-area residents. Black residents were more likely to identify entrepreneurship as the best path for financial success." https://lnkd.in/eYgJr7iz

By investing in young entrepreneurs and providing them with the support they need to access finance, we can help them overcome the barriers they face and unlock their potential. This investment can lead to a ripple effect, as successful young entrepreneurs can become role models and inspire others to follow in their footsteps, further fueling innovation and economic growth. In conclusion, it is essential for all stakeholders to recognize the importance of supporting youth entrepreneurship through access to finance. By doing so, we can create a more dynamic and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that benefits not only young entrepreneurs but also the economy as a whole.
Happy Youth Month, South Africa! At the NEF, we're committed to empowering the next generation of leaders and change-makers. We believe that every young person deserves access to the resources they need to thrive. That's why we're dedicated to funding initiatives that support black youth development and entrepreneurship. Let's celebrate our youth and work together to create a brighter future for all. #YouthEmpowerment #NEFFunding #FundingBlackYouth

Please do check our Website Homepage to know more about what PBM Group does and how we do what we do for the Community......#PBM Hey there, community leaders,, Business Owners & Entrepreneurs and fellow humans! Today, I want to share something close to my heart about PBM Group's unique approach to business. You see, in the world of business, profit often takes centre stage. But at PBM Group, we believe it’s about more than just the bottom line. It’s about giving back to the world / community we live in that nurtures us. Now, you might be wondering, what sets PBM Group apart from other business establishments? Why should you choose us over countless other options? Well, here’s the thing. At PBM Group, we have a core belief that defines everything we do. We believe in the principle of Freely We Received, Freely We Give. Think about it. The talents, blessings, and opportunities that have come our way are gifts from our Creator. We didn’t earn them on our own; they were given to us freely. And because of that, we feel a profound responsibility to freely give back to the world with the same generosity. This isn’t just a mantra for us—it’s a way of life

Several Five Points and Westwood Small Businesses Awarded nearly $300,000 in Grants "The Community Business Preservation program, a statewide program that provides grants to small businesses has given funds to several local staples in the Five Points and Westwood area. “When I heard about the grant, I thought it was perfect for Five Points because the goal of the grant is to preserve history, preserve community, preserve culture. It was meant to support businesses that are at risk of displacement,” said Benilda Samuels, the executive director of AYA Foundation. “And well, very few places in the country have had more displacement than Five Points.” To read more, visit https://lnkd.in/gGfiw7Zk . . . . . #Denver #AYAFoundation #Entrepreneurship #Networking #BlackExcellence #BlackAchievements #BlackCommunity #BlackCulture #Melanated #BlackEmpowerment #BlackEconomics #BlackWealth #BlackWealthMatters #BlackDollarsMatter #BlackEntrepreneurship #BlackOwnedBusiness #BlackBusiness #BlackLeaders #BlackConciousness #Goals #SmallBusiness #BlackBusinessInitiative .

Over the last ten years, entrepreneurs of color have had the greatest growth in business ownership, accounting for more than 50 percent of the two million newly created firms. Yet, they have fewer assets, are less likely to be employer-based businesses, and are undercapitalized. Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) play a vital role in strategically leveraging opportunities for wealth creation for entrepreneurs of color. Join AFN on July 31st at 1pm ET for a webinar/brief which will highlight successful and innovative strategies to position #CDFIs as wealth-building mechanisms including recommendations on how #philanthropy may invest to narrow the racial and ethnic #wealthgap through investments to expand small business.
