On being the D.E.I. (Diligence, Excellence & Imagination) hire with a spin and I am sold. John Leguizamo did an amazing job at explaining representation at this years Emmy's presentation and what it means to us, what it has evolved into and how we can further grow the representation within our fields. I have seen his "Latin History For Morons" show live and it was great too. He is a great example of resilience throughout his career and how to shift from what an industry thinks you "should" be or look like or sound like or what you "should" do into what your true calling and passion is. His insight, inspires me. Por ahora quiero ser el mejor ejemplo para las Latinas en cada industria que represento. https://lnkd.in/gvFqpGcF

Earlier this month I had a chat with Georgina Njogu of Citizen Digital. The idea behind the interview was to discuss personal life & career. We touched on many topics including but not limited to the motivation, the set backs, the comebacks and the drive. 1.My biggest support base is my family. My brothers made sure from a young age that I never had a victim mentality, they taught me by looking at their values, how they tackle challenges that you can't be a victim. They despite all odds were the best mirror I could have, being strict with me and making sure I became a younger version of them. 2.Social capital- I have been a beneficiary of social capital people who can and have mentioned my name in places I didn't even immagine exists,to people who have stretched hands to pull me back when I am out ,people who receive my calls when I am out and bring back the belief people like Lillian Ngala ,Azmina Mulji Leadership Empowerment Coach and HR Consultant and many othersif I was to do this list we would be 89 pages. 3.Taking Calculated risk,I have always believed that you either take the risk or loose the chance. 4.At the apex of it there are well planned ,well calculated goals, what and where I wanted to be . 5.I am a victim of my own ambitions andost of the time the very ambitious thoughts have led me a stray,Sometimes it has consumed the very drive I had . 6. Be Cognizant of the fact that nobody owes you anything not even your mentors, appreciate the people who take their time to guide and listen to you. They don't need to do it but when they do neveret them down. 7.Character is the S to the word success .Have integrity,be consistent, respect authority and love what you do when you still doing it.
I did another one! https://lnkd.in/gngCGrCr Kennedy Osano 's journey is one of perseverance and resilience, having become a father in Form 3 and navigating two failed engagements while climbing the ranks from a bank Cleaner & Messenger to his current role as country director at GTXN. Despite facing personal challenges, Kennedy's unwavering dedication to his career and commitment to providing a better future for his daughter shines through. His story is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and never giving up in the face of adversity, serving as an inspiration to all who encounter setbacks yet continue to strive for success. Kennedy Osano, thank you for sharing your story with me.
