Ever catch yourself feeling guilty after eating something "bad"? 🍽️ I've been there. For years, I battled with food shame and anxiety. But here's the truth I learned: Food isn't good or bad. It's just... food. Here are 3 quick tips to start healing your relationship with food🌟 : 1. Practice mindful eating - focus on how food makes you feel, not just calories. 2. Allow all foods in moderation - restriction often leads to binging. 3. Speak kindly to yourself - negative self-talk doesn't serve you. Remember, a healthy relationship with food is about nourishment and enjoyment, not punishment and fear. What's one food you've been afraid to enjoy lately? Foods have different meanings to each of us. Food can represent pleasure, nurturing, soothing, delight, and goodness. Food can represent fear, betrayal, confusion, control, and the enemy. Food can represent escape, a break, and a way out. And food can represent all of these things at different times. There is power in knowing your story around food. As you notice (without judgment) your feelings around food, you may notice patterns of responses. Take note of these, get curious as to why. If you feel a draw or a repulsion around certain foods or meals, explore your first experiences around these foods. There is most likely a story there. As you discover the meanings, you may gain great insight as to why you eat what you eat, why you love what you love, why you fear what you fear. Every food behavior has a beautiful story to tell us. Embrace your story.
