Thanks a lot for Dorothea Ringe and Karla Velarde sharing their reflection about the Women's Leadership Excellence program at ESMT Berlin this July. In the program feedback, we asked the participants what their top learnings from the program and what outcome they hope to achieve by applying the learnings, several themes stand out and I would like to share with you (and quoting the original reflections from the participants): 👉 hone in strength/value/purpose-based leadership: "Think about the WHY -the deep Motivation behind leadership." "Owning one's strengths." and here's my favorite reflection "Stay true to myself!!!" (and yes, she used three exclamation marks ❗ ❗ ❗ ) 👉 Importance of network(ing) and visibility: "Block time to systematically network." "Understand operational and strategic network and how to manage them." "Give me a higher chance or create the right environment that will help me go to my next step." 👉 Confidence and presence: "Being more confident and therefore conscious in professional life." "Feeling better with myself and my achievements." "Building a strong reputation in my industry and being perceived beyond my organization as an expert." 👉 continuous development and reflection: "Further development for me as a leader." "Block time for self-reflection." Though 3 days seem short, participants have taken a lot away. As mentioned by one of the participants: "The class model is unusual but surprisingly effective and thought-provoking.
