Hey Brooklyn, we want CANDY! 🎵 Located at 275 Park Avenue (at Waverly), this candy factory was completed in 1911 for chocolatier Wallace & Co. The building is now an apartment building aptly named The Chocolate Factory. Did you know, as candy changed from treats sold by the pound to mass-produced & marketed chews & bars with colorful names, New York City was home to a thriving collection of candy and chocolate manufacturers? At the beginning of the 20th Century, the waterfronts of the #EastRiver were lined with sugar refineries, such as the Domino Sugar Corporation on Kent Street. The refined sugar was used by candy manufacturers all over #Brooklyn. In 1908, Brooklyn produced 130,000,000 lbs of confections, serving not only the 560 candy shops across Kings County, but also for national and international export and sale to the U.S. government for use as military rations. #BuiltbyTurner #ChocolateFactory #TurnerNewYork

A Monumental Achievement: The Statue of Unity 💪     The Statue of Unity Official stands as a testament to remarkable engineering and architectural prowess. Spanning about 790 feet including the pedestal, this iconic structure has claimed the title of tallest statue in the world, surpassing the world’s second tallest by over 260 feet.    Symbolizing unity and strength, the statue is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 'Iron Man of India,' who is credited with uniting more than 565 princely states within India after the country achieved independence from British rule.     Accompanying the statue is a memorial garden, exhibition hall, and a memorial and visitor center. Smith Family Center on AdventHealth’s campus in Merriam, Kansas, sets a benchmark in early childhood development and therapeutic services. This 68,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility offers physical, occupational and musical therapy, multi-sensory environments, dedicated feeding therapy spaces, and two aquatic therapy pools. The ceremony took place at the site of the new stadium and included remarks by University officials and Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss.
