Porter is a very unique service in India and probably globally. They have options that cater to both b2b and b2c businesses as well as private users. While private users don’t make up a significant percentage of users, the fact that they are more than competent at handling that channels says a lot. Tuesday Market Update: SO Apple has finally pulled the plug on its electric vehicle dreams and will instead relocate the (almost 2,000) car team workforce to its generative AI division. The company reached a turning point last month, revising its 10+ year goal of creating a truly driverless car to a less elaborate EV design. It seems the pivot wasn’t enough, and the tech giant told staff yesterday that it will scrap the project altogether. The move is perhaps unsurprising given both the global slowdown in demand for EVs and a monumental surge in appetite for generative AI. In market news, as expected MULTIPLE companies are on the hunt for acquisitions including Austco Healthcare Ltd (formerly Azure Healthcare) provider of healthcare communication and clinical workflow management solution is eyening M&A for growth. Israeli company Way2VAT, AI-powered technology platform seamlessly integrates all VAT/GST travel and expense and accounts payable reclaim needs for clients looking for acquisitions for growth. Prestal Holdings (formerly Pental Group) [ASX:PTL], an Australian owner of household cleaning laundry and personal care brands, is investigating suitable acquisition pportunities and Dicker Data is looking to grow through acquisiton ... and the list goes on! 2024 is going to be a BUSY year of inorganic growth. This decision comes despite securing $90 million in emergency funding, reflecting ongoing financial difficulties. Known for its strategy of acquiring and enhancing smaller Amazon-focused brands—a tactic that elevated it to prominence within the eCommerce sphere—Thrasio's journey involved raising over $3 billion for an ambitious acquisition. These acquisitions encompassed a broad range of products, including camping equipment and kitchenware. However, this "Amazon aggregation" business model has encountered significant challenges. The current economic downturn and a tight funding environment for tech ventures have necessitated a significant change of course. Thrasio's bankruptcy filing also exemplifies the recent struggles faced by high-growth tech companies. The company expects to use this process to strengthen its financial position and meaningfully deleverage its balance sheet. (𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸 #'𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 Jesse Houston's 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸) first off, i just want to say that i have mad respect for anyone who starts a business. you often put you and your families finances at risk to do so. anthony and aidan are badasses with that being said, i'm going to throw out some numbers about the Singularity 6 acquisition. these are guesses: 1.) acquisition price was not mentioned in the press release - typically this means a value lower than the total capital raised. liquidation preferences would mean founders would receive close to zero 2.) based purely on the financial statements provided by ENAD Global 7's subsidiary Daybreak, I would estimate the purchase price of Singularity 6 to be in the range of $5,000,000 - $15,000,000 million USD, Daybreak does not have the balance sheet to support a purchase higher than this (especially considering declining revenues) 3.) given Palia is a casual MMO and monetizes through cosmetics, we can assume that the monthly revenue is likely in the range of $25,000 - $500,000 given ~8,000 CCU's 4.) estimated peak developers at ~140, developers at acquisition were ~50 - game developers all-in cost companies around *25k per month on average given their location. monthly burn at peak $3.5m, current monthly burn $1.25mm. likely less than 1q of cash-on-hand *5.) actual purchase price was likely close to zero with an earnout component. actual cashed earnouts in other industries happen comfortably less than 25% of the time i would expect more of these acquisitions soon
