I am thrilled to share that I am now a certified Circular Economy Specialist accredited by AENOR, the esteemed Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification, including ISO standards. ♻ Completing the rigorous 49-hour coursework was both challenging and rewarding, and it wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of my fantastic teammates at Deloitte Sustainability & Climate. CSRD Training Update ♻ 👉 Here is what I have learned this first few days: The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) was adopted in November 2022 and is only now gradually coming into effects. The overall theme of the CSRD is the increasing transparency and accountability of companies regarding their environmental and social impact, promoting sustainable business practices across the EU. What does it mean concretely for a company in term of objectives and goals?  1) Standardisation of sustainability reporting (YES finally!) : Right now there is not really a standard framework or rule to follow, the CSR directive will establish a comprehensive and comparable reporting framework for all large companies and listed SMEs in the EU, we are gonna save so much time but also we will be able to compare reporting results within same industries. 2)Double materiality: Companies must report on information that is material to BOTH their stakeholders and their impact on the environment and society (let’s not forget this last one ;)). 3)Focus on value chain: Reporting extends BEYOND a company's own direct operations to include its entire value chain, including subsidiaries, suppliers, and partners. It’s a all scopes kind of situation... 4)Auditing and assurance: Audits will be mandatory for large companies, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reported information. 5)Improved stakeholder engagement: Companies must actively engage with stakeholders throughout the reporting process. That is a lot yes, but we are already kinda doing it, so the CSRD gives us a better framework and more guidance. ✅ And you? what does it changes for you and your company? #csrd #RSE #sustainabilityinbusiness #regulations

New regulatory guidance on 'greenwashing' has been reviewed by the IUA. As more and more financial products aim to demonstrate qualities of sustainability, the Financial Conduct Authority is introducing new guidance to ensure such claims are not exaggerated or misleading. Responding to an official consultation exercise on behalf of member companies, the IUA has welcomed the guidance. In addition, it has called for further examples of best practice to be published so that insurers can be clear about what they need to consider when discussing sustainability.

🌱 Just completed the CSRD Fundamentals course from the CSRD Institute! 🌱 As we move towards more stringent and transparent sustainability reporting, it's essential to stay ahead of the curve. Starting from 2024, the CSRD mandates corporate sustainability reporting using the ESRS. One of the key environmental standards, ESRS E5 (Resource Use and Circular Economy), requires companies to disclose if the company considers circularity a significant factor for its business. This standard emphasizes the entire value chain—from upstream to downstream—requiring companies to provide a detailed overview, including: ·      Impact analysis and risk/opportunity assessments ·      Management criteria and implemented strategies ·      Sustainability goals ·      Specific information on material flows, including waste management The objective of ESRS E5 is to maximize and maintain the value of resources, products, and materials by creating a system that supports renewability, optimal long-term use, reuse, refurbishment, regeneration, and recycling. SUSTAINABILITY AT THE HEART OF OUR BUSINESS STRATEGY #Sustainability in all its dimensions is becoming a central component of our company's strategy. We are committed to transforming our activities into an even more responsible business model for our customers, those who work with us and for us, and for the communities and territories where we operate. In 2023, the main concrete initiatives focused on sustainability included: ✔️ Obtaining ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) certifications. ✔️ Completion of the EcoVadis and SAQ sustainability assessment process (with successful outcomes). ✔️ Updating and publishing our code of ethics. ✔️ Implementation of regulations on reporting misconduct (Whistleblowing). ✔️ Doubling CLEAN ENERGY production by increasing the covered area of photovoltaic panels from 8,000 to 18,000 m2. And it doesn't stop here; we will continue our journey in 2024.
