Kweichow Moutai vs. Kentucky Fried Chicken - A Day in China Consumer Land A great discussion today on Bloomberg Markets Asia with Angela Han Lee, Bloomberg Intelligence on Kweichow Moutai's price hike and Yum China's 3Q result. Kweichow Moutai's ex-factory price hike of about 20% for its core brands could add about 3-4% to 2023 sales based on our calculation. The distiller has kept its ex-factory prices unchanged since 2018. Please click on the link to access the full article: https://lnkd.in/gQdu_hxj Yum China's 3Q result could dampen sentiment around its 2024 performance due to lower-than-expected same-store sales amid China's consumption downgrade trend. How do you think the coffee industry has shaped modern economies and cultures? Join the conversation below! Let's take a moment from our busy schedules to reflect on the transformative journey of coffee, especially its pivotal growth in the Americas during the 18th century. The story of coffee in the Americas is one of agricultural innovation and economic transformation. Introduced by the Dutch, the fertile soils of the Caribbean became the first home to coffee in this new world. The cultivation then expanded into Central and South America, turning countries like Brazil into coffee powerhouses. Brazil's rise as a major coffee producer was not just an agricultural success story; it was a catalyst for economic and social change. The coffee industry shaped much of the nation's economy and played a key role in its social structure, echoing across the entire continent. Today, as we sip our favorite Brazilian blend or enjoy a coffee from Colombia, we're experiencing the legacy of an industry that shaped nations. Coffee in the Americas reminds us that every bean has a story, one that’s deeply rooted in the soil and the souls of its people. #CoffeeHistory #AmericasCoffeeLegacy #EconomicTransformation #CoffeeTalks
