US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describe 10 patients with nonkeratitis Acanthamoeba infection who reported performing nasal rinsing before becoming ill: 1. Features: All were immunocompromised, 7 had chronic sinusitis, and many used tap water for nasal rinsing 2. Hospital-acquired infections affect every health organization and can lead to further complications. This conversation highlights the need to consider all aspects of the change, including cultural mindsets, daily work, systems to support the new work, and the work required to sustain the change beyond the initial implementation. The perspectives of the subject matter experts on evidence-based practice must be integrated with the expertise of those doing the work on a daily basis and how change must be tailored to the different work settings.
