CELEBRATING TUNDE ONAKOYA: My Lesson on Discipline Tunde Onakoya's achievement is a big deal, and it's all because of his incredible discipline. 💪 Discipline means sticking to your goals no matter what and Tunde Onakoya has demonstrated that to us. Tunde Onakoya's years of consistent practice and focus is a testament of his discipline. He has defeated 10 opponents at once (in Germany). Someone once said; Discipline is the purest/greatest form of self love. It is ignoring current pressures for greater reward. This is indeed a great reward for Tunde Onakoya! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿. During a race, Abel Mutai, just a few feet from the finish line, mistakenly stopped, believing he had completed the race. Ivan Fernandez, who was right behind him, realized what was happening. Instead of taking advantage of the situation and claiming victory for himself, Ivan chose to do something remarkable—he guided Abel to the finish line, allowing him to win the race that was rightfully his. When asked why he didn't take the win for himself, Ivan's response was profound. He said, "What would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor in that medal?" This response highlights a crucial lesson: true self-worth and confidence are not built on taking shortcuts or exploiting others' mistakes. They are built on integrity, empathy, and doing what is right, even when no one is watching. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙨❓ 1️⃣ 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙊𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮: It’s easy to take advantage of situations where we can benefit at the expense of others. But true integrity means choosing the right path, even when a tempting shortcut presents itself. 2️⃣ 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣: Ivan's actions remind us to put ourselves in others’ shoes and act with kindness. Helping others succeed doesn’t diminish our own worth; it enhances it. 3️⃣ 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡: Success that comes from deceit or taking advantage of others is hollow. Real success is achieved through honesty, hard work, and respect for others. 4️⃣ 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙨: Our self-esteem is deeply connected to our values. When we act in alignment with our core principles, we reinforce our self-respect and build a strong, positive self-image. This story serves as a reminder that who we are as individuals is defined not by our wins and losses, but by the choices we make in moments of truth.
