Have you seen how they're reimagining access to care over at Uber Health?!
💫 Our favorite rideshare company is looking beyond rides, rentals, and food delivery with the introduction and innovation of Uber Health. Through same-day prescription deliveries, outpatient care coordination and transportation, and home delivery for OTC medications and groceries, Uber Health looks to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
💫 Improving patient outcomes:
From non-emergent healthcare appointment transportation to prescription delivery, Uber Health has the ability to make care coordination outside the hospital easier for the patient. Not only does this address the care coordination challenges faced by clinicians and providers like myself, but this also potentially alleviates stress taken on by patient family members. Imagine being able to coordinate primary care visits for your grandmother who lives alone in a different city from scheduling the clinic appointment, to arranging transportation, to the doorstep delivery of time-sensitive medications, and even the delivery of heart-healthy foods from the local grocery store. What's better, Uber Health also offers the ability to utilize health benefit accounts to pay for these services!
💫 Reducing healthcare costs:
With more focus on preventative care, there is potential for reduction in the nation's healthcare spending. Uber Health allows collaborative coordination of a patient's outpatient primary care visits because it understands the role preventative medicine plays in the general health of Americans today. Additionally, care gaps are closed and healthcare operations improved when patient access to care is addressed.
💫 I am excited to live in a day and age where I can impact patient satisfaction, well-being, and health outcomes with the introduction of a simple phone app. I enjoy exploring new and innovative ways to leverage technology to address social determinants of health and improve the lives of patients everywhere.
💭 Have you tried Uber Health for your patients or family members? Can apps like Uber and Lyft really play a role in healthcare outcomes for our patients?
