Should you hire self-employed contractors or full-time employees? I've been listening to what HR directors say on this.. This is what they think: HIRING AN EMPLOYEE: ✅ Control: You get control over when, how and where they do the work. ✅ Loyalty: Employees offer consistent availability. Contractors after they finish your project may not be available for future assignments if busy. ✅ Way of working: You can shape them to do things the way you want. You can give them performance objectives and training. A contractor may already have their own way of doing things. ................................................................................................................... HIRING A SELF EMPLOYED CONTRACTOR: ✅ Expertise: they are usually an expert at what they do with no training required. Great if you have an immediate project or lack the expertise yourself. ✅ Can be short term: you can have a contract for services for a fixed amount of time. And the benefit over an employee is that if you don’t like them – you can end the contract easily if you’re not happy with their work. ✅ Payroll is simpler: as they look after their tax deductions, have their own insurance and do not have the same rights as employees. There’s no sick pay, benefits, pension etc. ✅ No equipment needed: They should have their own equipment / tools as a self-employed contractor – so no car / laptop / phone needed. 💭 Do you think hiring contractors is cheaper or more expensive than employees? 🎉 Exciting News: Successfully Implemented Payroll Automation for Fytocare Chemicals Ptd Ltd Company! 🎉 I'm thrilled to share that I've just wrapped up an incredibly rewarding project with Chemical Private Limited Company, where I spearheaded the automation of their payroll process using Excel macros. 💼💻 The journey began with streamlining the entire payroll workflow, from collecting employee details to generating individual pay slips and exporting comprehensive payroll reports. Here's a glimpse of what we achieved together: 1️⃣ Employee Data Collection: We revamped the data collection process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in gathering essential employee information. 2️⃣ Automated Calculations: Leveraging Excel macros, we calculated various components of employee compensation, including total working days, overtime wages, fixed salary, HRA, DA, gross salary, and deductions like PF, ESI, and DTS. 3️⃣ Pay Slip Generation: With the automation in place, we seamlessly generated personalized pay slips for each employee, providing clear insights into their earnings and deductions. 4️⃣ Email Integration: To enhance communication and streamline verification, we automated the distribution of pay slips via email, ensuring prompt delivery to all employees. 5️⃣ Export Functionality: Additionally, we implemented a feature to export the payroll data into individual files, facilitating easy access for the verification team.
