I recently attended the RSA Conference in San Fransisco with #KudelskiSecurity. I was able to identify a few resounding themes and talk tracks. 💡 Here are a few of my key takeaways: #AI and Next-Gen Solutions - It is clear that the industry is primed for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and that companies are branding to that effect along with the tagline of “NexGen” with their products. With AI, the promise of bigger, faster, better creates an interesting outlook with some undefined outcomes. What I saw from RSAC 2024 is that everyone is talking about AI but usually with the caveats “it will be interesting to see how this actually benefits us”, “it is not quite there yet”. It will be fascinating to see in the coming days, months, and beyond the evolution of this technology that is clearly here to stay and what problems AI will undoubtedly solve. General Appetite for Change- While the market is becoming (over?)saturated with products to solve all the problems cybersecurity professionals face today, what I saw at RSAC 2024 was the appetite amongst both attendees and vendors to engage in the discussion which was refreshing. There was a charge throughout the conference and a high level of engagement towards change and evolution. The Proliferation of the Product: While the threat surface and attack vectors facing companies continue to rapidly expand, the availability of tools and services to provide protection with clear use cases and value props tend to make the discussion much more straightforward and strategic with a clear expectation for improvement. Coupled with the appetite for change and rise of AI and next gen solutions and with the stakes as high as they have ever been, there is additional pressure on the modern-day cybersecurity professional to make the right choice in who they partner with. Looking from the Kudelski Security perspective, I see ample opportunities to partner with companies as they navigate these deep waters.
