The UK armed forces may not be what they once were but they are still a very effective force. Technology has changed defence/warfare greatly in the past 70-years. The preservation of manpower is now a priority. Technology has enabled less direct involvement by military personnel. Degrading the enemy’s ability to wage war is the “theme” of current conflicts. However, final victory will still requires a physical component. The UK is far better prepared for this possibility than Canada. Our current government has done nothing but delay, defer, stonewall & stop gap the CAF for the past 8-years. Programs which were previously approved by Mr. Harper’s government are still “pending”. CAF moral is at an all time low & the CAF requires 16,000 recruits to get back to strength. Political interference in the CAF is problematic. It will likely take a decade to repair the damage.

The government need to invest in the future of our armed services before it’s to late. We have the best give them the best equipment to make them successful in any deployment they take on. We have just had the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings don’t let there sacrifices be in vain.

Inspiring!
