GERMAN SOLAR INNOVATORS LAUNCH 80% EFFICIENT PVT SOLAR MODULE Sunmaxx PVT and Oxford PV have announced the launch of "Solar Hammer", a photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) solar module. Combining Sunmaxx's thermal management technology with Oxford PV's perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells, it achieves a record 80% total efficiency, certified by Fraunhofer ISE, according to the developers. At 26.6% electrical and 53.4% thermal efficiency, the new module surpasses previous records for a 1.63m2 module, with 433 W power output. With all major components manufactured in Germany, the partnership says the Solar Hammer represents a step forward in increasing European solar competitiveness. The technology aims to be commercially available within the next 12-18 months across Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
