In 2023, the European Court of Human Rights issued five judgments that confirmed the existence of the "right to same-sex unions", the right of same-sex couples to benefit from a dedicated legal framework for their recognition and protection. This dynamic jurisprudence offers a fascinating case study on the evolutive interpretation of the European Convention, the Court’s legitimacy, and State compliance, and will likely be studied for years
