The United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF) serves as a guide and foundation for reshaping country-level approaches and strategies for developing and strengthening geospatial information management systems and capabilities. It enables countries to bridge the geospatial digital divide, secure socio-economic prosperity, and ensure no one is left behind. We can realign the national geospatial information management system—comprising geospatial infrastructure, policy, institutional frameworks, collaboration, engagement, and innovation—at the national, state, and local/district levels to align with the nation’s development priorities. This ensures the optimal utilisation of geospatial data for effective decision-making and supports sustainable development. As part of the UN-GGIM Asia-Pacific Conference 2024, hosted by the Survey of India (SoI), a Regional Seminar on IGIF Implementation will convene leaders and practitioners to explore strategies for integrating IGIF into national and regional geospatial information management systems, including the sharing of best practices and success stories. The seminar will facilitate exchanges on effective implementation strategies and the sharing of experiences, including challenges and successful approaches from various countries. By fostering collaboration, this session aims to solidify support for advancing geospatial initiatives and integrating the framework into national geospatial ecosystems. 📢 The adoption and integration of #geospatial #knowledge in critical #economic #sectors is crucial for #national #development. Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (#GKI) plays a significant role in this regard by integrating geospatial approaches, data, and technologies to deliver location-based knowledge, services, and solutions. By incorporating geospatial knowledge into user workflows, the potential impact on sectoral growth and development becomes evident. With this background, Geospatial World is delighted to announce the three - day training program on 'Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure for National Development' scheduled to take place from 10-12 May in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This training programme will address crucial questions on the growth trajectory of geospatial knowledge, the influence of new-age technology ecosystems on user segments, and the role and relevance of the paradigm shift from data to knowledge in national development. It will also help NGAs to improve their #data management capabilities by enhancing their understanding of geospatial #infrastructure, promoting #datasharing and #interoperability, increasing #efficiency, enabling better decision-making, fostering #collaboration and cooperation, and adapting to new #technologies. Training comprises of following modules: 👉 Module 1 – Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (GKI) and its Socio- Economic Impact 👉 Module 2 – Foundation Data Infrastructure 👉 Module 3 – IT Infrastructure and Engineering Workflow 👉 Module 4 – Collaboration & Partnership 👉 Module 5 – Policy & Governance Register to reserve your seat : https://lnkd.in/gGUYud_7 Ordnance Survey Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV) Federal Office of Topography swisstopo NGI - National Geographic Institute Maanmittauslaitos, National Land Survey of Finland IGN - French Mapping Agency (Institut Géographique National) EuroGeographics National Agency of Public Registry Singapore Land Authority (SLA) Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie Kosovo Cadastral Agency Norwegian Mapping Authority Lantmäteriet الهيئة العامة للمساحة والمعلومات الجيومكانية - GEOSA Kadaster
