UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme)’s Post

By 2050, almost 70% of world's population will live in cities 🏙️ Urbanization has the potential to create opportunities for all, yet many countries have major work to do to meet #SDG11 - our goal to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. To make progress, action is essential. At the upcoming #WUF12, we will spotlight local actions to address the biggest challenges our cities face today, from unaffordable housing to lack of basic services. By localizing the SDGs, we can empower local stakeholders, encourage citizen participation, and make sustainable development more responsive to local needs – positively impacting small communities and sprawling megacities alike.
