This year, give Dad something better than another tie this Father's Day. With June being Men’s Health Month, let's prioritize his health. Health care providers and family members should make time to have heart-to-heart conversations with Dad about how he can manage any heart disease risk factors he may have. Simple changes, such as taking medication as prescribed, eating healthy, getting regular exercise, and quitting smoking can make a big difference in improving Dad’s health. Remind him that strong men put their health first. Did you know, according to the American Heart Association: • Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men in the United States, responsible for 1 in every 4 male deaths. • Between 70 percent and 89 percent of sudden cardiac events occur in men. • Half of the men who die suddenly of coronary heart disease have no previous symptoms. At AMN Healthcare, our Physician Solutions team is dedicated to providing top-tier staffing solutions for your cardiology needs. We understand the critical role of specialized care in managing and preventing heart disease. Our commitment is to ensure that every healthcare provider has access to the best cardiology experts to support men’s health. Let’s work together to make a difference this Men’s Health Month. Strong men put their health first, and we’re here to support them every step of the way. #MensHealthMonth #FathersDay #Healthcare #HeartHealth #Cardiology #AMNHealthcare #PhysicianSolutions #TalentSourcing

Rebuild Your Skeletal System Naturally 🦴 💡 Did you know that to rebuild your skeletal system, you need to focus on restoring the health of your kidneys and adrenal glands? 3,000 years ago, it was discovered that these organs play a vital role in maintaining your bones. 👉 If you're experiencing chronic skeletal issues, it could be a sign of underlying kidney or adrenal problems. But what about your lab tests and urinalysis? While those tests are important, they only measure certain aspects of kidney function. 🔍 Just because your results are normal doesn’t mean your kidneys are operating at their best—it simply means they aren't on the verge of failing right now. So, even if your labs are clear, it’s important to support your kidneys for optimal bone health! ✅ Protect your skeletal system by taking care of your kidneys and adrenal glands. Why Are Women with Chronic Pelvic Pain Left Disappointed by Healthcare delivered by Emergency Departments? Severe Abdominal Pain Dismissed: Chelsi and Zoe’s Stories In times of medical distress, we trust that healthcare systems will provide the necessary care. Unfortunately, for women like Chelsi and Zoe, their experiences tell a different story—one where their severe pain was dismissed and minimised. https://ow.ly/lAqi50SXjzb A Common Thread: Women’s Pain is Often Overlooked. Recent reports indicate that many women in the ACT have faced negative interactions within the healthcare system. Their pain is often dismissed as “psychological” or simply a result of “being a woman.” Chelsi, at 19, was one such case, sent home from the emergency department with inadequate care for what turned out to be pelvic inflammatory disease. The lack of timely intervention has left her with permanent health concerns. Similarly, Zoe, who suffers from complex regional pain syndrome, found herself being dismissed as a “drug seeker” when seeking help for severe abdominal pain. Despite having a history of gallstones and chronic pain, her suffering was not taken seriously during a crucial hospital visit. The Larger Issue: Medical Misogyny in Focus These cases are not isolated. Research shows that women are more likely to receive sub-optimal care in emergency settings, especially when their pain is related to the abdomen or pelvis. The stereotype of women being “hysterical” persists, leading to delayed or inadequate treatment. A Push for Change: What’s Being Done? Awareness of medical misogyny is growing, with both state and federal inquiries underway to address gender bias in healthcare. The ACT Health Minister, Rachel Stephen-Smith, acknowledges the issue and highlights ongoing efforts, including the establishment of a “pelvic pain pathway” to ensure women receive appropriate care. Our Commitment We believe that every patient’s pain is valid and real. We are committed to listening, validating, and providing the care that women deserve. Your health and well-being are our top priority. Join the Conversation. Have you experienced similar challenges in receiving care? Share your story and help us raise awareness. Together, we can advocate for a healthcare system that truly listens. #HealthcareForAll #WomenInPain #EndMedicalMisogyny #ChronicPainAwareness

Risks for hip fractures are greater for women than for men and increase with age. Individuals who sustain hip fractures exhibit higher mortality than age-matched cohorts, and survivors often demonstrate permanent disability and dependency despite successful surgical repair. This review explores de scriptions of the extent of residual disability following hip fracture and details the multiple variables that account for the discrepancy between surgical and functional outcome. Although outcome has been described traditionally in terms of mortality, ability to perform activities of daily living, and ambulatory status, the need to assess functional disability as a measure of recovery is emphasized.
