United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF)’s Post

🇺🇳 The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is seeking high-impact infrastructure projects from African countries for the IMIF-TAF—our technical assistance facility supporting the pipeline of the International Municipal Investment Fund (IMIF). The IMIF is a blended finance investment fund designed to focus exclusively on supporting cities and local governments, managed by the benefit corporation and asset manager, Meridiam. ➡️ We are particularly eager to partner with all UNDP Country Offices in Africa to identify projects that would benefit from the IMIF-TAF, while supporting sustainable cities and communities. By combining UNCDF’s financing expertise with UNDP’s reach in Africa, we can work to deploy blended finance solutions in overlooked markets. 🟨 The target segments and sectors are: Solid Waste Water Supply and Sewerage Urban Development Industrial Sector Development Transportation Food Security 🔗 More info: https://uncdf.link/IMIFTAF

Thank you for sharing Adam glad to see infrastructures projects to be underway UNCDF. Infrastructure was UNCDF strength and at some point there was a shift when I was asked to close a road project in Darfur which I Visited and convinced UNDP and UNCDF to let the road be completed because of the people who benefited from it. Same story with other projects that faced closure. Thank you Adam for educating us and bringing to the light the powerful UN beat that will always remain alive While I follow you , your followers will get to see the beacon of light you are in spite of a world in turmoil.

Very interesting indeed! As a former senior adviser in UNCDF NY (2001-2009), any initiative to give local government leverage in funding infrastructure in the segments identified above are crucial. GGGI Uganda (with me as its EU funded greening urbanization and industrialization project lead), has an array of capital projects totaling USD1.3bn (urban) and USD140m (industrial).
