As a father of three beautiful children (aged 1, 3 and 5 years) I often contemplate about the world they will live in, and the challenges they will face. The recent World Economic Forum in Davos underscored again, the need for urgent, sustainable change! Which I am confident about, is driven by us as individuals. Specifically when looking at balancing short and long term. 10 years seems far away... Cooperatives and global initiatives like in Davos are key in driving change. They foster unity and collaborative solutions to global challenges, ensuring economic progress benefits everyone. We all share a collective responsibility and should support initiatives that prioritize sustainability and equality. From my point of view, this community-centric approach is vital for creating a fairer and more #resilient world. I'm proud to see my employer is part of this collective and contributes to the challenges we face. the WEF published a Global Risk Report worth reading: https://lnkd.in/eifn57Ns #Sustainability #GlobalUnity #Davos2024 #Splunk

**LinkedIn asked me what I expect from #Davos2024 next week.** Here's what I expect from Davos 2024 next week. Personally, I am eagerly anticipating the prioritization of the human aspect within each of their themes. Let's elevate our humanity by treating others as fellow souls, not as mere creatures. In embracing our shared human essence, we cultivate compassion, respect, and a world where every individual is recognized for their intrinsic worth. "'We show up, we give speeches, we say flowery words but in the end of the day, participate in the structural of the erosion of the rights and representation of people that are marginalized, women, refugees, children, people of color, people that reflect our society in full." - #RepAlexandriaOcasioCortez As the topic is 'Rebuilding Trust,' the themes are: - Achieving Security and Cooperation in a Fractured World - Creating Growth and Jobs for a New Era - Artificial Intelligence as a Driving Force for the Economy and Society - A Long-Term Strategy for Climate, Nature, and Energy My topic is 'Human prioritization' and instead of using flowery words, let's create meaningful contributions. #HumanPrioritization #Davos2024 #linkedincreators #LinkedInNewsUK #linkedinnewseurope

Founder | Culture Architect | Psychologist | AI and Decision Science Innovator | Strategy Coach | In an AI Driven World, my Focus is on: Culture Change, Leadership Development & Human Transformation ❇️
Here's what to expect from Davos 2024 ... #LinkedInNewsUK #davos2024 is focusing on Trust around the areas of climate change and technology governance. Both, critical matters for us today. I am glad that they are focusing on a “soft skill”, as it is called in the world of business. However, this is not business, but people’s lives and not just figuratively speaking. My hope is that #davos2024 comes up with an actual transformation plan as to how the 70 counties attending will cooperate and collaborate with a single cause - to mitigate the impact of both these phenomena in a way that is both safe and equitable to all peoples of the world. The challenge, however, is that trust requires the setting aside of self-interest – be it as an individual or as a country. And this is easier said than done because each culture has its own way of approaching trust (vis-à-vis protecting its self-interest) and, as human nature has it, individuals can also be easily influenced or swayed when rewarded to go in a different direction. This is all the more exacerbated, when not all countries are equal in power and influence around the table so what starts out as collaboration actually converts to competition. I would argue that the greatest enemy we face today is human nature, irrespective of the challenges in front of us. We call it "geopolitics" but at its very nub it is about human beings making conscious decisions to “protect” their own self-interests, irrespective of the costs to others and in some cases, because of the costs to others. I wish all the delegates at #davos2024 the very best but I also wish, that for once, we are able to overcome our nature and make decisions out of love and care (through transparency, consistency and accountability) for our fellow human beings and not look at these challenges in Darwinian terms, anymore. #leadership #management #climatechange #technology #davos

We are excited to announce our participation in the 54th World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland this year. The event takes place from 15-19 January under the theme of “Rebuilding trust”. In a transitioning world, people, societies, and businesses face supply of shocks, deep structural shifts in geoeconomics, climate change and artificial intelligence. Given the level of uncertainty and high stakes involved, there is a clear need to move past the diagnosis of challenges towards solutions. Our Chief Executive Office, Dr Nombasa Tsengwa (Ph.D.) Tsengwa, and Board Chairman, Mr Geoffrey Qhena, will together with global leaders engage in dialogue, forge stronger partnerships, and begin to rebuild trust to find practical and implementable gains for societies across both short-term and longer-term strategic horizons. We remain committed towards Powering Possibility in Africa and beyond through global cooperation to solve the world’s toughest challenges, contribution towards sustainable economic development, whilst to ensuring long-term climate, nature and energy resilience. #wef24 #SAInDavos2024

Delighted to be returning to the World Economic Forum this week in Davos, Switzerland, and in the spirit of this year's overarching theme "rebuilding trust”, contribute towards countering the world’s increasing geopolitical and economic polarization by means of “building bridges” and “building consensus” on solutions helpful in addressing some of the world's most pressing challenges. 🌐 Specifically, the purpose of my participation is to connect and re-connect with entrepreneurs, co-investors and policymakers on some of the following main sub-themes: 🚀 𝟭. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Discuss opportunities for direct Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), bank and non-bank sources of financing towards the most CO2-emitting sectors, as well as inspire policymakers to implement counter-balancing policies promoting rather than discouraging investments in transition opportunities, echoing my prior post critiquing progress in transition finance as a vital catalyst for change: https://lnkd.in/dDjC9ydt 𝟮. 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵: Offer insights derived from my recent investment activities in the field of hydrogen for mobility and be open to learning more about investment opportunities in alternative energy, carbon/methane capture technologies, biogas, traceability, and other areas where technological and business innovation may counter further anthropogenic breaches of the climate and other planetary boundaries. 𝟯. 𝗔𝗜 & 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Inspired by last week’s meetings at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas (https://www.ces.tech/ ), delve deeper into how artificial intelligence – which in my view has already started to redefine the fabric of society and commerce – can be harnessed to preserve our planet. I am glad to connect and, if schedules align, engage in person during the forum on January 16–18 in Davos. Let this gathering be an occasion to not just "build bridges" but also foster "building consensus"—an opportunity to exchange ideas, collaborate, and set the course for impactful change. The conversation begins here! 🌍💼 🔗https://lnkd.in/dYH68Kzm #WEF2024 #ProfessionalDialogue #SustainabilityLeadership #CES2024 #TechnologyInnovation #Davos #SustainableFuture #AISustainability
