One of the often overlooked superpowers of #museums is their ability to sometimes stop you in your tracks and exclaim "What the ****!" Here's an example of just that from an #exhibition I recently visited at the Wellcome Collection. Maybe this is a question we need to ask visitors in summative #evaluations? What purpose do Museums serve? When fact-checking is so easy using Google and Wikipedia and YouTube is awash with documentaries, you could be forgiven for thinking, that Museums might be a thing of the past (excuse the pun). But the good news is that we have hundreds of Museums of all shapes and sizes with terrific stories to tell. While the pandemic in 2020/21 was an obvious disruption for Museums, many benefitted from the reorganisation as even basic things like the layout of exhibits and visitor routes had to be designed to be more efficient. https://lnkd.in/egbP2XMR
