I'm perfectly okay with being dismissive (or even rude) to Chatbots, and even to people that are being forced by their Organization to behave like Chatbots (i.e. "scripted" Troubleshooting.) Perhaps this is not "most people's" experience; but if I am unable to achieve a solution myself; it is (highly!) unlikely (based on 30+ years of dealing with such) that a Chatbot or a Script will be able to solve my problem.
I'm definitely on Team Nice (although I will admit to being a real ass to automated call tree systems and will 100% be yelling expletives into my phone). I remember a colleague years ago saying, "I'm too busy to be nice." Those words always stayed with me as it's such a horrifying thing to think, IMO. We can never be too busy to be nice and we can't practice being kind enough, even if it's to a chatbot. If that's not enough to convince you, there's plenty of research to back up superior results from these tools when we are nice. https://lnkd.in/gSQeMgWr
